  2. So reading that it makes sense but it says its technically wrong but has it been implemented in the way we write names? At the moment I have half dozen plant books which are incorrect reading those articles
  3. Taken from RHS Level 3: Plant taxonomy, structure, and function
  4. I was always tort the plant kingdom order Was Family, genus, species, variety/cultivar. I know there's sub species etc. Looking on the RHS Website it doesn't seem to support what your saying?
  5. That's my understanding to
  6. Hi Some photos might help to show the tree, distance from power line and the voltage of the cables.
  7. hi Are there any training courses for tree planting and formative pruning?
  8. sound like your progressing well, completed the L6 a few years ago its not easy but worth it in the end.
  9. Well done, not an easy course to complete....Level 6 next
  10. Looks interesting, I know there's obviously decay there linked to the ganoderma, but just wondering how you interpretate the extent of decay as there may be a void between the co dom stem?
  11. Hi All, Found London plane with some strange staining on one of its scaffold branches, also some dead branches close. 12. Was the report carried out by there insurance provider? If so presumably a trail hole was dug and soil analysis etc undertaken. Depending on what there basing the recommendation for removal on by not doing this could cause other problems. why not remove the conifers and replace with a fence?

  15. Hi all I did my PA1/6 many years ago, theres been a lot of changes and new parts added to PA6, mainly ecoplug and stem injection (think its 155/156 nptc website) Will I need to take the test and have these modules added before I carry out these operations? Many thanks Tree
  16. Yeh, it's worth noting though that you probably wouldn't see the fungus at the moment, may be some remains from last year though around the stem base. Are they looking to replace in the same location?
  17. My 2 pence worth, At a glance I wouldn't have any great issue retaining it based on those photos.
  18. I currently use Otiss, mainly as i get free student access, think it is better for tree condition surveys than BS5837. I have used it for bs5837 and it does the job but found it a little limited though.
  19. Think need a long period of cold temperature to germinate, some of the old FC publications had the suggested stratification periods listed. Its needed to break the seeds dormancy.
  20. what are you? I have a few various ones as PDF files if there any use?
  21. Hi Think your probably best just to focus on whether or not you would TPO the tree, if the answer is yes, then you could go back and ask for supporting evidence but if your not going to TPO the tree then there isn't much you can do and even if you ask for more information they have no obligation to provide it. I would be a little carful requesting reductions as unless the reduced size is maintained it could still be a problem, plus 30% reduction according to the horti link project. The 3rd party owners do have the right to challenge the insurers request. The fact that it was a dry year 2018 just means that there was more subsidence claims, not much we can do with that one. hope this helps
  22. BT line clearance would come under the Telecommunications Act 1984, Schedule 2 (think its now been revised though). Just had a glance though looks like 28 day notice should be given, which may of been sent by the people your working for?, best thing to do is the past the complaints on to them. as the above post states, wayleave agreements should include rights to maintain set clearances.
