  1. Found them for 14 quid. Is it worth getting mechanic to do it wouldn't want to knacker it by trying myself
  2. is it embarrassing to admit to having never changed a belt?! Although we did supplement one once for about 4 zip ties together to get us back from Fraser Island in Australia! Does anything have to be loosened to change or just stretch over? More importantly can I knacker anything up by changing?!
  3. LDV 200 (sherpa shape thing). It only happens on tip up, when i'm drawing the leech and then sometimes when I'm slowing down to a stop begins to squeal on idle then disappears after a few metres on pull off
  4. Reviving this thread for a bit of mechanical advice. Had truck off the road for a couple of years. Put back on and have noticed that when tipping, or occasionally when pulling up at lights start too get a squeal from the engine bay. Guessing this is a belt and guessing its connected to the alternator if it squeals when tipping and it draws current/load/leccy?! Do you think the belt could have deteriorated over time unused or so you think the pulley needs tightening? Is there any way to prove what the issue is and any recommended fixes?
  5. Reviving thread to show recent purchase of mine Winget 1978 articulated 4x4 forklift. 3.5t unladen 1.25t lift This is her earning her first pay check! Be good for logging/forestry lads goes anywhere.
  6. Here is the rest of the pictures
  7. Sorry I always though it was better for forums if you hosted the pictures on other websites with regards to storage capacity and image size. I definatley don't profit from pichost.org!
  8. Some better pics taken yesterday. Would anyone have any idea of the health? A lot of the branches look brittle although this seems to be a feature of contorted willow. All the leaves visible appear to be from climbing rose (?) behind this tree. No leaves as of yet on the willow although you can see a few buds here and there. Cheers
  9. Sorry they were taken on mobile. The get rich quick ads are because I hosted them on a picture hosting site. i've redone them with no compression so hopefully a bit better quality. Someone has suggested contorted willow to me although I couldn't find much on the google about them so decided to ask here. I did find a claw willow is this another name? How big do these grow? Thanks
  10. Any chance of getting your opinions on the identity of the following tree. Sorry first photo isn't great. Thanks in advance

    Ausa

Anything in particular to look out for with Ausa plant? Looking at an older machine isuzu engine Any good/bad experiences? Cheers
  12. The operators license is what confuses me. If you drive upto a 7.5t I understand you can ditch tacho if just taking kit/plant to work within a proximity of your base. You can also ditch CPC in this case if not driving for hire just taking your own kit to a job. but do you still need a operators license? for UPTO 7.5t? I could do with a nice alloy back 7.5t but can't be bothered with all the agro. To confuse matter further i understand there is a (less onerous?) restricted operators license
  13. Way I understand if you were in UK you would also need operators license
  14. What are you on then Ty restricted operators license?
  15. So is it a certainty that you have to retake the trailer part after upgrading your license? I've got trailer entitlement myself but post 97 license as yourself

    Torque =???

With my extremely limited mechanical knowledge your looking at around 20% more on both hp and torque between the two. How that directly relates is beyond me.
  17. Looks strong. What's the licensing craic over there? I know when I passed in Aus I could drive upto 4.5t, however this doesn't transfer onto UK license as we younguns are limited to 3.5t
  18. Do you have to make many alterations to replate or is it simply a paper exercise?
  19. Yeh i'd be going for 7.5t if out of the 3.5t bracket. Could this be downplated/rated while maintaining a safe (if illegal) decent payload?
  20. From my extremely limited knowledge! While looking into converting mine I found that some manufacturers seem to have a 'mega' fuse near the battery and a smaller fuse on the wiring to the control. Check both of these then that's me beat!
  21. Looking at pallet fork attachments for these size machines. Forks to fit a machine less than 6t seem unpopular. You can get them on eBay but it's got me thinking. Is it safe to be using fork attachments on these size machines? Obviously wouldn't be exceeding the machines capacity. It seems to me the dipper is lower to the ground so your lifting capacity has more room to spare. I wonder if the load is not good for the machine though with it being off centre (as opposed to being on slings).
  22. Took cat out of my van as it blocked up twice. Obviously there is a reason why it was blocking up but the only noticeable problem was the cat clogging and costs £200+ a time.
