  1. Yes if those plates are repairs then spells trouble! Is the 151 6cyl as well? Can't find much info online
  2. Looks a similar year to that eBay option Aspenarb. You find much breaks on it? I won't be asking a lot of it. Just got an awkward site where I want to be able to crane pallets in, as well as dig and scrape
  3. Yeh I looked through that catalogue the other day. Emailed them about the Bobcat lot 524. Asked about hours
  4. Theres a newer one in the background makes me wonder whether owner operator getting rid of his oldun. 3000 hours, dial must've gone right round! I can't view anything for a week of so as am away.
  5. Thanks for the heads up. There's another 151 on eBay similar but looks a bit tidier. Digger Excavator Kubota 5T | eBay Yes have seen quite a few clements stuff on plant trader Apart from the obvious digging, i'm looking for something which will lift a tonne. That's why i'm looking between 4.5-6t I dare say you're more likely not to buy problems if your spending upwards of 10k. I just got looking for kubota and came across these two similar priced machines.
  6. Kubota KX151 Mini midi digger excavator 5 ton | eBay Would something like this be too old to be serviceable? Would parts still be easy to come by?
  7. Wish I knew what cheap meant! Think that's more the problem. I've had a look on their website. Seem to have enough choice. Is it all ex hire? What hours are considered low/ low for year
  8. I didn't have a budget in place before I started looking! Do now! I reckon i'm looking at 15k for something tidy (inc VAT). 10 Years old n all. I'd have preferred around 10k, seems most stuff under that though could be a gamble. As long as i'm getting most of the cost back, after upkeep etc i'm not really fussed
  9. Leicestershire. I've seen a couple of machines but it's hard to find a comparable to see if the price is right. I'm trying to keep an eye on resale value when i'm done.
  10. Looking for a 4.5 - 6t machine in the new year. Where is the best place to look? I'm keeping an eye out on eBay and Plant trader. Is there anywhere else? I'm also unsure as to what I should be paying. It's hard to judge compared to cars where there is obviously a more accurate market value. Want something tidy as the intention is to sell on after about a year, unless another project comes up and I can keep it earning.
  11. There's a good idea to get onside with neighbours. 6m long 3m height 1.2m thick How many builders bag of chip u reckon?
  12. They are thumbnails btw if the photos are too small. Sorry for the photo quality on phone. Dogs arse is literally in one she was going thru for a cat. How long do you lot leave before burning? They take ages to brown from my experience and smoke more than my nan n grandad. Any tips?
  13. Hi all, Any chance of someone specifying what type of tree/hedge/conifer's are in the photo. Presently about 8'/10' tall and i'm looking at building near it. Clay ground so most likely will have to come down. Thanks in advance
  14. 94 plate, 64k miles. Not bad for 20 years!
  15. Well all went well. Old body wired up with a 7.5 amp fuse about 2" off the solenoid. Splash proof but let's hope it's not wet when it blows. Drilled the isolator thru the footwell as before. On about the second tip the body stopped halfway and motor started clicking. Good belt with a spanner and all is well. Must have been sticking. Has been ok since. Thanks for all the help. Here's to weighing in low on the bridge!
  16. 4X4 FOUR WHEEL DRIVE PEUGEOT BOXER ALUMINIUM DROPSIDE TIPPER 2.4 TURBO | eBay This might be of use to someone here. Thought I'd post in case it helps any one out as they don't seem too common. Nothing to do with me selling. Cheers
  17. Right got the bodies swapped today. All went pretty well really. I had to get 1 fuel line off the tank on both vehicles. I think it was the return line. Anyway I plugged it up with my finger and quickly threaded it where it needed to go and all seems well...Think I got away with that one. I've got the donor pick up all finished now with the flatbed, mudguards and swapping the number plate. Tipper body is in position on my truck. Got to bolt down and wire up tomorrow. Will put a fuse between solenoid and switch as has been suggested. I'll add some pics when it's done. Wont be much to you boys liking as it's only 2.6t GVW! (no good for wood chip!) Still with the alloy body I reckon i'll still weigh around 1.6t on the bridge empty so "legal" payload is okay for me. Thanks for all the help you lot. Chassis looks bad here but it's just mucky. Rub that off and the paints like the day it rolled off the line.
  18. Glad the lads saved their pack ups btw!
  19. Yes will definitely put fuse in! Are you saying fuse on the wire to switch as per treequip or fuse on wire coming from battery? A lot of manufacturers seem to include a mega fuse on this section. Any advice re the above? One of the trucks has had the original filter (with priming pump) bypassed and an inline filter put in. Bleeding that my be way beyond my limited mechanical skill!
  20. Right got the hiab booked for tomorrow. Just noticed one of the fuel lines wraps around the tipper frame. Am I right in thinking I can disconnect this at the fuel tank, unwrap from frame, re connect to fuel tank then i'll have to bleed system? Am I wise trying to clamp diesel line above where I disconnect or will vacuum stop diesel emptying from fuel line? Thanks again...
  21. No pun intended with "tip" either
  22. Thanks good tip with regards to making sure it's accessible when the bed isn't lifted. Ie when the fuse has popped. I did come across what looked suitable for an inline on the main feed. Was 200amps and inc holder and fuse was about £20. Apparently commonly used on tail lifts. So with the fuse protecting the smaller wiring will it also protect to power pack if it on this side of the unit? Also if I used the aux fuse would this not be a similar distance (if not further) than putting inline fuse beside the switch in the cab? Cheers
  23. Ok so don't put fuse between battery and power pack If I'm putting the fuse on the red cable between switch and solenoid could I do it inside the cab where it's not exposed to the elements. What amp do you recommend? I also forgot to check if the rear lights were on a socket. Will have to suss that one out
  24. Okay i've been and had a good root around this morning and seem to have got my head around it. Bear with me i'll post all the photos (sorry there's a lot!). Also one thing I couldn't trace was a fuse! So is it the case there may not be a fuse for this unit? What happens when you try to tip too much?! So this is the battery. 3 Wires connecting to the positive. It seems to be the end one which goes to the tipper unit free photo upload This is halfway between the above wire from the battery, to the power pack. Its the isolator and comes thru the cab in the foot well. Just a switch arrangement. host image online free adult image hosting This is where this wire feeds into the power pack. So couldn't find any fuse along this whole length. image upload no size limit This is the wire coming out of the power pack heading to the switch in the cab. image free hosting This is the switch with the plat off the front. screen shot windows So basically I now have my head around the wiring. Just hoping someone says "yes there isn't usually a fuse for them" - and i'll be happy. Otherwise got to go rolling around in the wet again. By the way there is another wire running alongside the wire to the switch. just ignore this though it goes to the beacon and doesn't join into the tipper wiring at any point. Thanks for your help again
