That last bit there! The internet, social and mainstream media cause a huge amount of problems, but they also open people's eyes and ears to viewpoints beyond those they hear at home. So one of your 6 children (to your knowledge) so far has not sided to your own intollerant viewpoints and you're doing your best to change that! I'm sure that there are quite a lot of us of a more tolerant persuasion who have to put up with the viewpoints of our right wing, intollerant and angry parents shouting at the news about everything that's gone wrong with the world. I know for me and many others we've had to learn to put up with it, ignore it, pick our times for an argument, or walk away so as not to have to continuously hear their angry thoughts. But for family peace and as they may not have that many years left we don't bother to pursue trying to change their minds as we may have done in the past. It is OK for family members to have different viewpoints and for kids to find their own way in the world, just because she doesn't mind how others want to identify, you don't have to draw her into your world in that respect. If she's happy to sit next to Jodie and call her Jodie even though she used to be called James as that's what makes her happy then that's no bad thing, it's about respect for the other person at the end of the day!

What you don't seem to realise, or it doesn't fit your narrative is that as far as I remember, nobody on here has disputed what happened, or even disputed that not enough done/there was incompetence or even some kind of cover up of what did or din't happen in the lack of investigation etc. What people do bring up over and over again and you continue to do, over and over is post negative stories with a very obvious racial/cultural bias. As has been pointed out, the only crimes (or the vast, overwhelming majority) that you highlight on this and other pages are those done by non white, generally muslim perpetrators. At the end of the day, you are hugely selective in what you think that others on this forum need to see, and the determining factors seems to be race/religion.

Yes, and ideally get rid of the public schools completely as they only continue to increase the divided society. In a system like one of the scandinavian countries (can't remember which) there is no private schooling and therefore the wealthier parents can and do support the education of their little ones, so the schools are well supported by those who can, they are personally invested in them. Our system has so many issues and some of them are worst in broadly affluent areas where the state schools are really not good, partly or mainly because those with money who are "interested" in there children's education and can find the means use the private option. The them and us is only perpetuated by having schools for the wealthy and influential.

I don't dispute the gravity of the crimes committed by your chosen offenders whatsoever, they are horrific and those responsible should be locked up for a very long time, and if they are citizens of other countries, be sent back there after completing their sentences. But it is also just yet another one of your posts about bad things that "immigrants" have done, and let's face it, you seem to have a preference for criminals with darker skin and ideally muslim sounding names! Judging by the prevalence of this type of post that you share, I can only assume that you either go searching the news providers for crimes committed by people who may have come here from somewhere else, in ordero share with everyone on here who may have missed them, or that the algorithms on your social media fields highlight this type of news story for you due to your reading and sharing history.

Should the police/press/authorities respond and react differently in different situations? If the "trouble makers" are those that have been aggrieved by a particular incident, and/or are from the immediate surrounding area and local tensions have bubbled over when compared to trouble makers who have gone to an area in order to start trouble, using an incident that ultimatley has nothing to do with them to provide "justification" for their own actions and to further their agenda. If it was an incident for example in a school or a workplace, would an individual who had been relentlessly harassed and finally lost their temper, punching someone be deserving of the same punishment as a "bully" who just goes around and punches someone just because they don't like them?

Just curious about why some of the articles refer to the pride march as a political rally, this seems to be a key point for some of the objectors to this. Since when is someone's sexuality a political point?

I discovered today that it's not a good idea to pull a trailer (or log splitter in this case!) with your finger in the towball socket bit! Somehow I managed to flick the latch/spring bit, resulting in something hard /sharp doing a good job of removing half my fingernail.
