  1. You’re not alone!
  2. Last few days dicking around with some lapsed hornbeam pollards. IMG_0689.MOV IMG_0692.MOV
  3. As an owner I always try to blame anyway else before accepting blame myself. I’m already furious about loads of stuff before anyone even turns up for work. The first few hours are usually spent in a state of constant agitation, muttering stuff like ####sake!’ ‘Come on!’ And ‘this job’s a ####ing disaster already!’ By lunchtime I’ve already fallen into a sort of resigned depression. Otherwise it’s all sunshine and roses.
  4. Anything is possible, well almost anything. At your age I’d be looking elsewhere for a change of career. It is physically quite hard in all weathers, not that well paid at the foot soldier level and a bit oversubscribed in the UK at least.
  5. The topping isn’t making it get wider and wider, it’d do that anyway, even if you left the top on.
  6. Igor doing his Sunday morning yoga.
  7. I imagine the ‘hope’ was originating from the owner. I’d wager the two guys just listened to instructions, shrugged their shoulders, did it and put the bill in. Thing’s not worth a toss, take it out.
  8. In fairness he is advertising on this site, so he’s not getting a freebie.
  9. If nothing else we’ve got some great memes from it.
  10. Anyone got a link to a supplier of this ‘stockboard’? Sounds like good stuff.
  11. The press released the story years ago about how he was on the front line, which up to that point was kept secret in an agreement with the news media. This meant he was pulled out because of the risk that he’d be captured. He was very dischuffed iirc.
  12. You know when you finally get what you want, and it’s just as good as you hoped. You can push this thing around like a pram, and it’ll get the job done brilliantly. IMG_0680.MOV
  13. Lovely stuff lads. Back to the OP, it’s a common problem, the temptation to grab a decent armful and stuff it through is just too great. As soon as you’re out of sight the sloppiness starts. If they’re otherwise ok, and in todays job market, I’d avoid going nuclear. Maybe next week when they get back earlyish take them both back to the house with a power washer and (hopefully) get it all off. Don’t make like some big punishment, but show them someone has to sort it out.
  14. Treason? Put your burning pitchfork down mate.
  15. If they (or a lone nutter) want to get to him they’ll do it, no bother.
  16. How so? I thought it was a relevant point.
  17. Fair point.
  18. Well, then you get the point. There’s being a possible target, and then there’s asking for it, which is what he is doing imo.
  19. That Harry is a prize idiot I reckon, admitting he killed 25 people in Afghanistan. Would not be surprised if he finds himself a very sought after target for the rest of his life.
  20. I reckon there is, the most bang for your buck in terms of money spent and money to be made is a single cab 3,5 tipper and a wheeled sub 750 chipper.
  21. So did you get a green card or what? How many pictures of you standing there like a bloody lemon must we endure?
  22. If I’m 100% truthful I’ve never been base jumping.
  23. It’s right up there with base jumping and extreme donkey fondling in terms of excitement.
  24. Iirc, the four tyres across the back should all be the same for the MOT
