    A/t tyre

Hi all. I am needing to replace the tyres on my hilux over the next few weeks and was wondering what to go for. Currently has road tyres on as I haven't owned it long. I have had bfg km2 and also maxxis 764 m/t in the past on my ranger but I don't do as much off road work now so think a a/t would be more suitable. My local has quoted me £480 for cooper at3 and £160 a corner for bfg ko2 so a fair doffrence. In the middle there are general grabber at3 for £132 a corner. Not set on any make so any questions or experience is verry much appreciated. Many thanks Tomm Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. Looks like we were slightly u see estimating sycamore as a firewood. Tbanks Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Hi all. I would like to put a partition in the middle of our tipper trailer so we can do two separate loads without going back to the yard between. I was hoping any of you who have the same would mind putting a few pictures up of how its been done please. the trailer is currently having a set of barn doors mate by a friend so I would like to get it done at the same time if possible. many thanks Tomm

  8. hi all. I was hoping someone could tell me how they find sycamore to sell on as a business. we have cut about 120t of it and cant decide weather to process it all or sell a couple loads and buy in some other hardwood to mix in. I have heard it burns quite fast so thought I would ask guys who have been at it longer than me this is only our second year selling logs so apologies if it is a daft question thanks Tomm

  13. Thanks all. I did suspect softwood but wanted to be sure. I will take a few more pics tomorrow when I'm back at the yard. The fresh cut bark from the too of the log also looks like softwood to me but I'm far from an expert. Spruce or latch would still be better for us than a horse chestnut mind. Thanks all Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. Hi all. Had this turn up in a lorry load of hardwood this week and don't know what it is. Had a look on Google but still not 100% sure. Many thanks Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

    new pick up

hi all. the time has come for the ranger to go and I am on the look out for the new truck. I have narrowed it down to either a 65 plate d-max or a 14 plate hilux. both basic spec models with a canopy. main use is towing a tipper trailer for delivering logs and shooting/dog walking. was hoping those of you that have used either of these trucks could give me any pros and cons and if you had your time again would you get something different. all opinions welcomed. many thanks Tom Bounsall

  18. hi all. I recently felled about 80 tons of sycamore and have it roadside. we will be having half of it for our own firewood business but I would like to sell the other half then buy in some different hardwood to mix in. what would you consider a fair price for 4-16 inch sycamore stacked. I don't want to rip anyone of but don't want to get my pants pulled down either. I was thinking 40-45/ton + vat does this seem right? thanks in advance for anyones help Tomm

  21. Hi all for those of you that season firewood in an ibc outside with a lid do you find you have to bring them inside once dry before the wetter months to stop them getting wet? currently have logs outside in cages with lids stacked two high about a foot apart in rows of 3 deep drying for this winter and I was wondering weather I could keep them outside until needed or if it would be best to bring them in for the winter before being sold. first year using ibcs outside so curious as to what others do thanks in advance Tom Bounsall
