I've chatted to my web designer quite a lot about this topic and in his opinion Google adwords will put you to the top for local searches but it is not sustainable. I once used adwords and it just wasn't worth it. As long as your website is SEO friendly, lots on the web about this, then it really is up to you to increase your profile. Checkatrade is great, Google +, Linkedin, all of the social media marketing tools you should use. We are starting that now. If you need specialist SEO help then contact Steve at Wowfish Design, mention that Ed was chatting on a forum, he will be happy to help. I'll put a link below. Final note, Google search is a funny thing, don't be tempted to try and get 1000's of links through a 'spammy' company, so many out there. Google will delist you. I have the Hero 3 black edition. But I use it for cycling as well as other things. If you are not going to use it for multi tasks then the white is good, don't think you get a remote control with it, you do with the black edition. There is so much you can do with them and the accessory list is massive. Argos are doing a great deal on last years Black. Amazing deal, don't think it will be round for long. I agree with Kev for the sake of a few pounds get one that meets the British standard recommendation for kit on site for 1-10 men. But keep your one yourself. You can never have too much if an emergency does happen and as you know, most householders only have a box of plasters. Today an ambulance can take 20mins or more to get to you and the nearest hospital can be at least that away. It's your life but you are responsible for your staff ( if you have any ). To get jobs from your website, people need to find you. A good web designer will make sure that you are seen on the internet. Creating your own site is a start but it will always make you look like you are an amateur. Lets face it, if you get someone to design your site and it costs you £800, and you get one good job from that website, then the website is already paid for. You should be getting regular work from your website. If you can get my guy to make a site for you then I would go for him. He will take you step by step, offer suggestions and solutions for you and give you the whole package. Don't do it. Pay per click isn't sustainable as it is too costly. Go to an SEO company or ask your web designer to up your search engine ratings. At least then when you are on page one of Google for your local area, you are likely to stay there. If you rely on pay per click then when you run out of funds, you will not be up with the ratings. I did try it but it was extremely expensive and when my designer checked the ratios it just wasn't worth it. Hope that helps Horsham Tree Surgery | Tree LC
