  1. Looking for some Saturday work from March onwards.. I am trained to CS30/31/38/39. All own climbing kit, top handles and ground saws. I have a rigging kit also. I am not the best but I get the job done. Prob better at removals as am still practising pruning although I'm not actually that bad at it. Am in the Bromley, Kent area. 07846 849 336 Thanks for your consideration, Matt
  2. Not sure what grade 3 is but I just bought a babyliss beard trimmer that is pretty decent.
  3. Thumbs up from me.. Will defo get one
  4. Use it on my lanyard, I like the springy legs of it. 90cm ocean polyester. I use a hitch climber pulley to tend it so that I can use it as a second climbing system if needed.
  5. Looking good mate. Can I ask how much something like that is worth?
  6. Oh it starts first time, it just seems to be after it's been running takes like 7-10 pulls to get going again! I've shelved it for the last few weeks but this conversation has spurred me on to strip it!! I'll give it a crack at the weekend.
  7. Ah ok, fair enough. I had a 200t and highly rated it but it got stolen I don't have any experience with other older stihls. The 540 just doesn't like starting warm. I'll be up there wasting energy just trying to start it! I love using it though, it's got great grunt. When I get some down time I'll strip it and clean the carb, pipes etc, see if that helps.
  8. So you have no experience with these saws but you have a rather heavy opinion. I have a mix of saws, stihls and huskys, and the ones that have pee'd me off are the huskys. I love my t540xp but am having absolute dramas at the moment starting it when it's warm. After a while of 10 pulls in a tree just to get it started, I soon break out the 201t. Horses for courses.
  9. I have a 261 and love it. 16" bar and it's great but happily runs an 18". Spend the extra and get a pro saw. Others may say go for the husky equivalent 550xp or 560xp. Heard very good things about those as well.

Ah, fair enough. I did say I might be missing something!! Stretching out learning with experience isn't always a bad thing, we get some guys turn up with loads of quals but unfortunatley aren't any good at the job; on the flip side some of our best workers have nothing behind them but an unparalleled hunger and drive to earn money and succeed because life didn't deal them a hand where they were able to afford any courses etc, making them far more enthusiastic and persistent.

Seems steep to me. I might be missing something but for around £2000 you can do cs30,31,38,39 at Kingswood training in Kent in about 2 weeks. Tree ID's you can learn from books and walking through woodlands etc. same for the science of trees.
  14. Bit of a long shot but I need someone to help me on a gardening round every Friday, March to November.. Pay negotiable based on experience.. Plant knowledge beneficial and at least some experience in gardening. Even maybe a subbie climber who just wants to fill up his week. This would be good also as I do get the odd big tree job come up where I like to bring in another climber to work with me, so the right candidate would get first refusal on those jobs also. Am based in Orpington, Kent. Cheers Matt
  15. Yep, everything you saw for the year.. Obviously he offers different things but I could only afford the basic package. Get in contact and ask him. Mention that matthew from panacea gardens recommended you, I'm sure he'll look after you.
  16. Thanks mate! He designed the lot, I had very little input. He's a one man band so he has his whole reputation to look after hence his thoroughness and attention to detail. Cost me £249 then I paid £50 more to make the layout mobile friendly
  17. I'm still working on the Gallery section, and theres a few bits around the site I need to edit/add but I've been a bit lazy!! Haven't had it that long either.
  18. Ok... Home
  19. Zubat by the way
  20. I have a 150 and absolutely love it, really I do. But, I use my silky on every climb, would never go up without it

  23. Yeah I'd say acer campestre. Was thinking ribes at first haha!!!
  24. Absolutely, walked away feeling much better. Cheers
  25. I went round there today.. Neighbour was nice as pie, knew nothing about it, had no qualms with me in their garden and happy for me to take the arisings. I specifically said I have no interest in their dispute and that I'm just following a protocol and staying professional. She was sweet as a nut. Basically kept telling me that my client is nothing short of a 'she-devil' and can't talk to her without shaking!!! Unbeleivable! I'm gonna keep my mouth shut and crack on.. Also got to see the beech tree again and it's much smaller than I thought/remembered; gonna be a sweet day with any luck! Thanks for the advice though lads
