  1. We are setup and approved for Vanguard warranty. We have all the diagnostic kit and been on the service courses. We did have several issues with the earlier engines, looms, fuel pumps, sensors etc. The manufacture of the components has changed now. We can report little issues lately on the engines. The 37hp cable throttle unit is soon being superseded the 40hp electric throttle version. With EFI engines, there is obviously an ECU and this ECU needs software updates. No different to your phone really. B&S turn out 500 engines a day, they are shipped around the world and stored in various manufacturers facilities. The engine could be 12 months old for example when its actually used and in that period software updates, possibly preventing forthcoming issues need carrying out. The manufacture of the product, TimberWolf, Forst, GreenMech in this case need to be checking for updates and making sure when the complete machine leaves their factory that the engine is up to date. It is also the dealers responsibility to check for updates and act accordingly on PDI and every service. We have been through this process and we can support the engines fitted into GreenMech wood chippers. Pretty sure we are the only dealer who are, not just on GreenMech, but the other mentioned brands also.
  2. The problem you have is that without an engine dyno you don't know how much to 'turn the diesel' up by. We have worked on diesel engines for years, we were happy with where we set the fuelling to. However cannot accurately say we achieved 34hp. We were comfortable that the engine was running safely and with increased power over 25hp. Naturally there is a risk of just having a go yourself.
  3. We couldn't possibly say if we have de restricted a 25hp V1505...
  4. You were correct, flipped the tyres over on the rims last week. Sidewall protectors on the outside now.
  5. We don't sell paint I'm afraid. There is usually a few shops on eBay selling paint.
  6. Machine finished, out ready for delivery to its new owner.
  7. Oh! Yes, will chase the factory when it opens this morning.
  8. Didn’t notice any on these tyres. But will double check that tomorrow - cheers 😊 Did you get your 19-28 back up and running with the replacement flywheel?
  9. Handy having a tyre fitting machine in the workshop... Tyres and mudguards ready. Coming together... Power (and running this afternoon)
  10. Photos from the powder coating booth...
  11. Not had the bill yet from GreenMech yet... Probably in for £1500-£2,000 or so for all the panel work, chassis, infeed hopper etc. Having the wheels redone silver also. It’s the labour involved that’s the big part. You’re looking 40 or so man hours to strip and re assemble. This machine has now sold! It’s being delivered to its new home next week.
  12. Yeah, it’s a Tomcat 🙂
  13. Chassis collected from GreenMech today. On axle stands, A frame refitted loosely.
  14. From our experience with recore radiators they will do metal "capped" ones, but not plastic. A new radiator through a Kubota engine dealer is usually about £600 odd ex vat.
  15. Generally this is down to worn out shocks.
  16. More info please. Does reverse work ok? What are your flywheel revs saying on the RDS screen? Alternator belt tight? intermittent? You mean they’ll work one hour and not the next? Or they’re stop start multiple times in a few seconds? Check out the red buttons, inside each is a switch. Test continuity in the switches. Check for water in the harness bulgin plug under the hopper. How have you checked the solenoids? Are you getting 12v at the forward hirschmann plug all the time? Even when the rollers stop working ? If so your forward coil is breaking down. If the forward coil is split down the plastic body it’ll be knackered. Replacement coil is about £85 + vat. We have them in stock.
  17. Depending what stress control system that machine is running you might be able to bypass the stress control by looping in the two bullet connector wires. If the feed rollers work ok with it plugged in just that the stress control doesn't then function it'll be an issue with either the stress control box or speed sensor. If it has the old grey type stress box with the built in speed sensor the control box is obsolete. However the speed sensor can be removed from the control box and is still obtainable from RS Supplies. There is a conversion kit available from TW to upgrade the old control box to a later one with separate speed sensor. TimberWolf are always pretty helpful on the phone.
  18. Don't think it will be stop bar switch as the rollers wouldn't restart on their own. To activate the feed rollers you need 12v to the forward hirschmann plug. Check to see whether you are getting a 'smooth' 12v at the forward side, or if you are getting it intermittently which matches the stop start of your rollers. If the 12v feed is continuous it could well be the solenoid coil playing up. If you are able to remove it from the valve block shaft swap it over with the reverse side. You can also swap the forward & reverse hirschmann plugs over, operate the forward switch to make the rollers go backwards. And the reverse switch to make the rollers go forwards. See if you can get the problem to move. Continuity test the switches up in the control box, could well be the forward switch inside not latching.
  19. Yes, we sold a new Isuzu sump the other week as this had happened. We also had a 15-23 in the workshop recently with a porous sump. Engine out job as you say. However, it is relatively easy to whip the whole unit out as one.
  20. There was a cheapish one on eBay down in Cornwall recently. Sometimes however, the purchase price is the thin end of the wedge! This machine will be for sale when completed. Great, glad she is serving you well!
  21. SafeTrak 19-28 MK2 went Kubota in around 2010. The 19-28 road tow stayed Isuzu up until production stopped a couple of years ago. In some respects the 19-28 road tow never went "mk2". It just kept up with the legislation changes.
  22. Engine unit on the deck. Service, cleaning and inspections to be carried out. Flywheel on the bench, front bearing had to be cut off. Flywheel will be checked over, repainted black, fitted with genuine new blades and bearings.
