  1. We have a couple of horse chestnuts that , about 4 years ago , had about 3 foot of claylike soil dumped around them behind a retaining wall of sleepers. The tree bark is starting to break away in places and I’m not convinced they will survive….. would that be a correct assumption ? Or am I barking up the wrong tree 🤔
  2. Anyone had any experience of growing shiitake mushrooms on hardwood logs other than oak ? I have 100 impregnated dowels to implant , but don’t have any oak trees to harvest any suitable 2-3’ long logs. Was wondering about trying field maple ?
  3. Any ideas ?? Tinder fungus ??? Growing on a pine/spruce ? sleeper…. 🤔
  4. Has to be Sainsbury’s puff pastry mince pies…… albeit this year they seem to be not available !🙈
  5. Dead branch on a cherry tree ….. I believe a Blushing Bracket 🤔
  6. Anyone tried the little Forest Master FM6DD 6hp chipper ???
  7. Makita BHX2501…..(4-stroke) great for blowing……had mine years. But, crap for hoovering up leaves !
  8. What’s your method of sharpening ?🤔
  9. Anyone have any job hindering hand injuries ? ( can see the jokes already forming 🙈) I’ve just been diagnosed with De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, which is preventing me from doing any climbing up tree jobs safely. Makes gripping things with the thumb sometimes quite painful.
  10. I did that ! But now I throw like a girl 😂😂
  11. Pre-op ts…. with the hormonal intake , that thing ain’t going to work 🙈🤪
  12. I’ve got one too ! Electric start ….. brilliant bit of kit ….. i use it for small jobs. I can lift it into the back of my car !
