  1. Thanks Stubby. I didn't think of that..
  2. Will the autotune on a 560xp need correcting if I change to ASPEN fuel? The saw has only been used a few times. I've also taken the spark guard mesh out of the exhaust. Any advice would be much appreciated.... Thanks, Timon
  3. Thanks. I'll check it out.
  4. Any idea who's our nearest aspen dealer? We're in south west Birmingham ....,, Thanks
  5. We've got the Stihl guy coming next week to give all our guys a maintenance/repair training workshop next week. Maybe he can shed some light on what has happened.
  6. Just got two saws back from the mechanics......... Stihl 261 2yr old & an old husky 147 Both got scored pistons. Suspect that it was either bad mixing or stale fuel. It's hard to know cos the saws have been used by different guys. Looks like it's going to be Aspen from now on.
  7. Hi again Jon, Absolutely chucking down now mate! Thanks .Timon
  8. Must be the calm before the storm, Jon. It's warm in Birmingham. Thanks mate
  9. My advice for what it's worth.. Check out the classes, particularly the ones that mix cardio with weights. It's made a massive difference to me and you don't need to be in there for hours on end chugging away lifting weights. I find I work twice as hard in a class than I would on my own.
  10. Interesting posts Steve , I guess you've been climbing for a good bit. I'm 50 next year and started climbing a year ago. I go to "tabata" interval circuit training class once of twice a week and it makes a massive difference to my stamina. I'm 13.5 stone and 5'9 so could do with losing a stone. Diet isn't a strong point but my wife has gone paleo so I'm getting better. I climb about 3 times a week. And I'm reasonably fit for my age. If it wasn't for this kind of training I think is struggle to get up the tree let alone work once I'm up there. Nice one mate Timon
  11. Where are you based? We have a full time mechanic and a garage in South BHAM. He can work on Commercial. HGV and some agricultural.
  12. Boots "muffles" wax ear plugs. I've tried loads of different kinds These are the best..... I sleep in them every night. Very effective, very comfortable and very affordable.
  13. Thanks for this....., we'll probably re-register it as a road vehicle once we have looked into it in more detail. Just to mention. We own a farm, (and rent a couple as well) We don't just do tree surgery We're not looking to take "short cuts" with our business just to save a few quid. Thanks Timon

  15. Sure The trailer would be towed behind another vehicle for recovery purposes. Thanks for the tip......
  16. It is That's good to know thanks.
  17. That's right, B+E . Those of us who have "grandad" licences. The younger drivers will have to sit a test I think......
  18. On the front I think mate, then it could double as a car recovery trailer as well when needed ( we have a fleet of different vehicles )
  19. Thanks guys, all this info is really helpful. We run 2 trucks: LDV & tw150 and the mog. With a trailer we'll be able to turn our bigger jobs round much quicker.

Anyone tried the sidewinder? How much "tail" will coil up. I took 2 strops up into a massive oak this week.. (Dead wooding) biggest I've done so far. Really tested my ability to climb and work efficiently in a very large canopy. Although having the extra strop (teufelberger CE lanyard) helped, it also hindered me as well. Spent a lot of time untangling myself. Next one (tomorrow ) I'm going to try and reduce the "clutter" in my system by using redirects rather than an extra strop.
  21. Thanks for this... Perhaps an old 7&half chassis might do the trick as well... As we only really do domestic arb it doesn't need to be that big. We're going to mount the pto chipper on the front so we can tow. It'll save us doing more trips to the tip and speed the jobs up.
  22. Thanks Bob..
  23. Nice one thanks...
  24. Thanks Treequip, Our new mechanic used to work for VOSA so he's well up on this kind of thing. What would be our max train weight? It's a 1250ag registered as agricultural.... Thanks
  25. Ps. I use an "eyetie" hitch on my hitchclimber on the mainline. Responsive AND grippy. Best of both worlds
