  1. When you get a moment, give Vermeer UK a bell and ask them, they're very obliging. I seem to have a mixture on my Vermeer grinder, especially on the hydraulics. I was tightening the connections on the Auto Sweep yesterday and found a 14mm spanner was the one for the main nut but a half inch seemed a better fit for the secondary one. Maybe just me. But, the mechanic who normally works on my two Vermeers is always muttering about the different size spanners needed. Might be worth asking them in UK.
  2. Cretins! Someone must have an idea who they are Gary. They're the sort of lowlife who will brag about it before long.
  3. I am pulling a pension. I'm actually older than Stubby, no, I know you can't believe that, what with my youthful looks, but it's true.
  4. They've only been there 7 months. You need some shade here in the summer months, this lady knows what she's doing. I lose a lot of plants with the heat and strong sunlight.
  5. When I went to do the quote. Couldn't take the pee out of him, he does martial arts. Plus Yoga, plus aromatherapy plus reiki and all the other Black Arts. Really nice folk.
  6. This isn't my garden but a client's I worked at Monday stump grinding. Thought it might be of interest. It's a manor house owned by a France chap and his Thai wife, both vegans, but never mind that, they are both lovely people. She is an expert in Permaculture, practised it extensively in Thailand. Dig once then cover in compost, straw, grass cuttings, anything that will rot down. Instead of making up raised beds as we probably would, they use any branches that have been cut off their trees, nothing is wasted, to form the walls. They only bought the place last year so have been hard at it since. If you saw my thread on horse logging, that was on the adjoining property, all the same manor house but divided into two huge houses. The neighbour's is like a park, absolutely immaculate whilst this couples is, shall we say at the other end of the spectrum! What they've done is kept the grass down neat and cut rides through the wild areas, leaving plenty for nature to crack on. They intend living "The good life", cash seems to be provided by his family. I was invited in for my lunch, corn dog sandwiches and mustard out of my grub box, they didn't quite recoil in horror, but not far off. The nosh they were eating smelt repulsive if I'm honest, leaves and stuff with rice. Interesting day, I learnt a bit more of alternative lifestyles.
  7. Licentious oaf! The Sea Scouts have a lot to answer for.
  8. Ooh, I feel vomit coming! Jesus Wept, I thought I'd heard it all on this forum, apparently not. Hang on Rich. Christ Alive, you're in Norway, this is getting really odd now.
  9. Basically worked it to death! 4 days a week on all sizes of stumps, nearly killed me as well! My knees are buggered up throwing that thing around all day long, if memory serves me correctly it was 235 kilos.
  10. It is. Predator rebadged it. I had the 450, it was shot to pieces after 2 and a half years, traded it in for a Vermeer.
  11. Lily of the Valley out now. More reliable indicator of Spring is when my wife rushes off and buys loads of geraniums!
  12. Totally agree Gary. She's worth more than money to you. Good lad for paying and not moaning about it. There's some very good people on this thread.
  13. Thank you for your sage advice, Oh Pompous One.
  14. I think you need to get out a bit more, mate.
  15. Canon SX530HS. Lens is already on there. I just keep the settings on "Auto". As I said before, not a clue what I'm doing, just point it, fiddle with the zoom , wait till it focuses, take the shot. Enjoying it after never having a proper camera before. Problem is that due to Covid and lockdown the local camera club isn't functioning. I intend getting lessons at some stage. The manual is fairly comprehensive but I get bored and switch off. No patience, that's my problem!
  16. Yes Gary. Getting used to it now but spending too much time this evening gawping out of the windows to see what's landed in the garden! Still haven't finished the three quotes I started two hours ago!
  17. I honestly don't know, I assumed yellow hammers.
  18. This is getting silly now, I'm supposed to be doing three quotes this evening, everytime I get going, I get distracted. I perched on the arm of the chair to get a better shot, chair nearly went over, I fell onto the radiator. Male and female Yellowhammer?
  19. Last year Mick, my wife counted 7 in a group in the garden.
