  1. I'm wondering how the TM is with a bigger guy. I'm not what you would call a racing snake size more your comfy couch sort of guy. I use a medium tree flex at the moment but need a new harness and fancy one of these especially with the maximum user weight of 120kg. Does anyone have any knowledge of bigger guys wearing them?
  2. Guys thanks for all the advice. Here are some pics I took tonight to show how much light it covers. 😉
  3. Sorry looking for advice on the pruning. Bit slow on the uptake. 😉
  4. I live in the same development in Muirhead so I know the ins and outs. I also have a few contacts in the LA so asked them to check the adoption stance. Not quite sure what you mean Daltontrees sorry.
  5. I looked into it. There was an agreement between the developer and the Local authority for the LA to adopt. If the client doesn't get it done the LA is going to do it and contra - charge the client. Unfortunately the lighting column is in their neighbours garden. Confused? I am.
  6. Hi guys I got a call from a client asking me about doing some pruning to a Eucalyptus. I got there and was told the local authority has asked them to cut it back as it was blocking a street light. So looking for advice as I've not done any pruning to eucalyptus before. The clients are wanting it all cut down below the lighting column but it will look terrible. I've added some pics but can get more if required. It's not the greatest tree and I suggested removal and planting something more suitable for the location but they want to keep it. Thanks in advance Barry
  7. Benwrdn How much chip do you get in the back of that ranger and is it a tipper? I'm thinking about that sort of setup as I've just setup in business would be good for doing hedges etc.
  8. Blue Tongue with a zigzag. A match made in heaven. 😉
  9. Very smart. Elf tree houses the rest of the year?

    Saw repair

Hi folks my saws playing up. Can't adjust the carb and am thinking of servicing the carb. It's a husqvarna 455 rancher and I'm just wondering where to get a service kit from. 2nd question is how difficult a job is it to do myself? I am quite practical but never really worked on a carb before. Cheers in advance Baz
  12. Does anyone have the price list for the jo beau range. I've just setup my own business and going to start with a wee chipper to make some magic beans to fund a larger unit.
  13. Guys thanks for all the responses it gives me some food for thought.
  14. Right guys n gals. I've got a 455 rancher x torque and just wondering if anyone has ever modded one and if so what did you do and was it worth the hassle. It is running like a pig at the moment so just wondered if there was any point in a mod. 😉 👍
  15. Folks looking for some advice. I've just started up my own business doing tree work. I currently am catering for the domestic market but may look to going down the route of contact work I'm the future. I am looking at getting my first truck and was wondering what the best route is either a transit type tipper and fit a chip box or go for a converted 110/130 landrover with chip box and tipper. I could see having a winch an advantage. So any advice or pro's & con's would be appreciated. As I've just started out I'm looking at around £3-7k.
  16. I would see my groundie alright he's doing the crap stuff so a wee incentive and get the job done quicker. 😉 👍 everyone's a winner.
  17. Personally I would be around the £650.00 for a job like that.
  18. Any idea of price yet?
  19. Obviously not seeing the job you may get away with stop go's or Temporary traffic lights that way you can maintain one lane open at all times.
  20. Blue Tongue all the way.
  21. Are they necessary. I'm just in the process of setting up a small business undertaking tree work and have CS30,31,38,39 I was just wondering to keep myself on the right side of the law are the above tickets required by law or are they good practice? In time I would like to get these tickets but am keen to start making a bit of cash to get some cash flow and once I have a bit of cash in the bank I can get these tickets. My insurance company has only asked for copies of my CS30,31,38 &39. If these are not required it will allow me to get my rigging tickets quicker. Cheers Baz
  22. Good effort the pros on YouTube make it all look so simple. I done my first big dismantle yesterday too. 2 x 70ft Leylandii that never had a single stem and about a 3m2 drop zone with an electric substation on the other side. To top it all off the wind picked up and it started gusting up to 40+mph. I learned a lot from that yesterday think twice and cut once. Well done.
  23. Has anyone tried building the APTA? It doesn't look that difficult to do. I need to look more into the pipe sizes and order them up. I can get the threads cut easy and its just a standard gas ball valve with a bike Shrader valve. If anyone has one I would be interested to know the pipe internal Dia. and the wall thickness.
  24. Thanks for the advice guys.
  25. Does anyone know of any trainers around the Dundee / Tayside area that will run one of these on an adhoc basis for me (Prefer to do it at a weekend)
