  1. Every time we have a how much should I charge thread the answers are the the same, what I costs one crew to do another crew can do it for less or another crew want double or treble. Price it for what u want or need to do the job and see if u get it. Since going VAT reg I've lost a few jobs but I've won plenty too, I put in the price I want and see what happens. The best way to look at these jobs is to know your running costs and what you need out of the job and then price accordingly.
  2. Not really, I just use a contract climber or groundie to assist on my jobs, I provide chipper, truck and rigging kit. They bring climbing kit and saw. I make a good living and so do they by all accounts.
  3. I'm paying what they charge, they set their rates and for the most I get good lads who get on with the job. I have found a decent few contract climbers I use now and things are better. I have learnt you get what you pay for most of the time.
  4. Cracking pic!!
  5. Yet someone would do it for the wood......
  6. I have a pay pal machine for sale if anyone wants it, in used £25 free postage:)
  7. The panels will side up and can be wedged and with my HB 20 I'd be away in a couple of hours. Nah bother.
  8. Not all of them that I use but...it just make you think am I too easy/nice what have you.
  9. That what I like in people too and I would be the same if I was subbing for people. The thing is I try to be fair with people working for me, job and knock, pints or bacon buttys and a bit extra if possible but I sometimes feel it's one way traffic.
  10. You would like to think so wouldn't you but alas I have found the better you treat people the less you get out of them.
  11. Day rate and a pint
  12. Yes of course but I'm not saying I would charge 950
  13. Depends if u want the job, I put a price on a job that is how much I want to do it, long drag or dog muck all over etc. I don't get them all but if I do then I'm happy. I got one last week that I put a good price on because I could see it as problems and I got the job so I know I'm covered. Too many people set their stall out cheap to get work and the customer always expects those prices. No point in working for nowt.
  14. Since November I might add.
  15. I've done 24,746 today, I have lost 3.5 stone using my fitness pal app and a Fitbit and exercising!!
  16. Do they do one under 750kg mate? Lol.:)
  17. Shocking and sad, it just makes you think, we do a dangerous job. I got hit on the head a few weeks ago by a branch butt while lowering, if I didn't have a helmet on I don't think I would be here now. Keep safe.
  18. Were you doing the Whitton?
  19. Just bought a couple off Stan and got it home and tried it, very good coffee! It will be excellent at work to have a brew from grounds.
  20. Buxtons and Honeys.
  21. It's now gone:(
  22. No mate.
  23. I have a brand new multi tip tooth that I found lying around, it was on my old 13hp grinder. Free to a good home. Please PM me if u want it.
  24. Utter bollocks
