  1. looking to get a new stump grinder, Thing is where I'm based its pretty hilly and lots of steps and narrow access. most times we get called to grind stumps its down an ally and they are normally smaller then 12" So id rather get something il use more and hire the big stuff when we need to. Iv been looking at the predator p360, But never used one. These any good?? also anyone know prices ??
  2. As titled, Im after a log processor to hire for a day but i need it to be big as some of the stuff i got is just to big for the smaller machines. not just that but to big to lift to. this is the sort of thing I'm after if anyone knows where i can hire one i can sort the excavator i just need the processor bit. Or a big pto one and i load it with the tele handler? [ame] [/ame] iv attached a pic but it only shows part of the size of the pile. so its actually bit bigger but you get the idea
  3. Hi guys and girls, Just a quick one really, who gets rid of there chip to biomass companies like stobart?? Is it worth doing and what sort of price do you get for doing it?? Just setting my new yard up and guy that owns it is interested and wants to know if it's worth him selling chip. So I'm trying to find out everything I can? Any help here would be appreciated Cheers
  4. iv wired my with anderson sockets on my 2014 ford ranger and my ifor williams tt105. Took a supply from battery but used a isolated switch to which means when if my trailer sits still and gets flat battery I can hitch it up, connect aderson plugs up and have power straight away with the flick of a switch. Also if you use tipper trailers ( loads) in a day and the battery does go flat and you use a tow bar s7 socket (grey one) then sometime it can overload the wires on the vehicle and fry them ( mostly common on the land disco) again why its better to run a anderson point over the s7 socket. but if you do use and the trailer enough to keep it plugged in to the s7 then it will keep topping it up enough for you not to worry about flattening the battery on the trailer. Hope this helps and makes sense. If you want il get some pics tomorrow for you.??
  5. as titled really, Im looking at buying a new truck and was wondering what people on here think. Iv narrowed it down to isuzu grafter or the transit tipper as both i can get on a good price. just looking for peoples opinions and why really. would be big help to me as i haven't had a grafter only test drive. Cheers for the help with this as i figured be to ask people who have been there had it ...
  6. id say never to old. I'm quite young so easy for me to say i guess as recovery for the next day might be bit quicker then say someone twice my age. But if you enjoy it then never to old. trick is price and go for the jobs you are keen for, If you wanna smash reductions out and feel up to the challenge then head for council and contract work. if you wanna enjoy your day climbing and perfecting reductions aim for private work where you haven't got a dead line as such because if you don't finish first day .. head back the following.

  8. I got a demo on one of these the other week and was amazed how good it was. but trying to decide if to get one of these or a tw230.. ?? still looks sooo shiny
  9. Just found this out so for those of you that didn't know Id thought id just post it up. So turns out if you tow a trailer.. That includes chippers and your vehicle exceeds 3.5t with the trailer then for work you have to run a taco in your vehicle, apparently that inudes pick ups 😕
  10. massive thanks for the lengths, Im just looking at getting one and did toy with the idea of DC but I'm only use it for work as work vehicle so think id benefit of more bed space than double cab. been looking at second hand vans but looks like I'm going to have to get a body built for it. Any one know of the rough price of a body? reason I'm thinking alu is just same again weight saving and more payload ?? Cheers Guys
  11. also can people tell me load length sizes ?? like between double cab and single cab .. how big is the bed ? just toying if to go crew cab or single cab. ?
  12. Hi All, Sorry for another question thing. But just looking at buying a new transit (new to me) roughly 10 plate onwards and was wondering whats the best way to go about an alu chip box body ?? seem some awesome transits with them but who actually makes them or when can i go to get prices from ?? cheers
  13. that I'm aware of no taco is needed for trailers which is why i also run one, but i fill that right up and with chip I'm still in weight. problem is if i take trailer i have to take a second vehicle to take chipper hence why transit seems to be my best bet. whats the law on down rating an iveco ?? or any other make ?? reason i thought of putting harder springs on a transit was just the fact that i wasn't wanting something like a spring to snap if i over loaded it ??
  14. hahaa joel77 your comment . sounds like the transit is ideal for tree work then lol, why the iveco ??
  15. Alright, Just a quick one really, For those that might know the answer straight away, But we currently run a ifor williams tipper trailer ( 3.5T unit) with a decent weight capacity, Now looking to sell it and use the money on a depo on a new transit, But 3.5T, Can i Fit the 5T springs from a 5T model to it will they just swap over? Reason i ask is if i keep it a 3.5t vehicle i don't need new license.. taco etc.. but if i put heavy springs on it then if i was to over load it then I run less of a risk braking something surely ??
  16. I got a demo on the forst st6 yesterday, can honestly say its a great bit of kit, The size of the bits i forst into it were impressive and didn't have 1 bit spin on the rollers. Iv got a demo with the new TW230 in two weeks time so il keep you posted. But at the moment there are some GREAT deals if you ask for it from the dealers. Im at the stage of getting our first new decent machine. and the two iv pulled it down to are forst or tw and both makes our older stuff look so much hard work haha
  17. no this was the exact review i was looking for as to get one or not.. turns out they are pretty good bits of kit.
  18. yeah normally I'm all about keeping it local and then if you have a problem you have somewhere to fall back on, Just down my way the nearest local TW dealer is over an hour away (i used to have a local but now they are greenmech) so thats why it pushes me to go online to say Arb and Forest just as they seem to have good prices but didn't now if there was any cheaper deals going at the mo. Id get another greenmech but just fancy a change to TW with this new machine. I guess though If I get a demo i can speak to the guy thats an hour or so away and see what he can do. good to hear the reviews of the 150 people have had are good though, makes me feel confident about the 230.
  19. going to france for new years for a week so if your still looking then i can pick you one up out there and post it when i get back home, I'm based in brighton, thats if you haven't managed to get one before.
  20. my main thing is iv never owned a tw and had people say (who also have never owned one) they the tw aren't are robust as jenson or greenmech. this is something thats been on my mind so for those that own a TW whats reliability like? also loving these comments sounds like its the machine for me going on what people say.
  21. yeah would be great to know what they are like, i have looked at the 150 but for the price there is like £700 or maybe less difference between the two on arb and forest, please keep me updated
  22. really like the look of these and tempted to purchase one, what they like compared to greenmech 150 or jenson? il have to get demo on one but peoples thoughts?? also wheres best place to purchase at the mo, like best price? cheers
  23. think iv just found the best solution to this problem ..... Timberwolf 230 dub ??
  24. Woodyguy I'm sure it Phyllostachys Aurea,
  25. haha you laugh about the panda but I filled a whole ifor williams tt105 trailer up and strapped it on the top, Took it to the local zoo and they have chucked it in the red panda enclosure haha. Theres to much by hand to dig its a excavator job if digging it out is really the only way, but il advise customer to try the other methods you've all given ( not sure how easy he will get a panda lol). Iv cleared a smallest patch swell and we have booked in to go back, its almost half and acre of the stuff. decent size to
