  1. plus normally has a chipper in the truck bed wile having a trailer on the back
  2. I know your feeling well, and so at the start of the year i bought a new ford ranger... I LOVE IT. great work truck, i have the smaller engine model, but its great on fuel, great at towing, and great off road. I tow a 3.5ton ifor trailer every day filled with either chip, logs or aggregates and the other day drove on the scales at 8.36 tons and she still pulled in high box rear wheel drive so personally i couldnt be happier with the product. hope this helps you. 3. This questions probably been asked many time before so sorry if this bores anyone ha. Been looking at the timberwolf range and was wondering why go for a chipper when the shredder seems to be more durable and can chuck rackings and fencing etc through it ?? Never see anyone nor have I used a shredder but thought I'd ask the question see what people say?
  4. Smashed the weighbridge challenge today with the pick up and trailer... Only slightly over loaded coming in at 8.36Tons with my ford ranger
  5. When I demoed mine I went to the show room saw Oliver and was like can I try it, he wheeled it out the show room I tried and I bought. But I know other guys have had them on site before. What's it you looking to do? I never rent mine out but I guess Deppends what it is I might be able to help if no one else can. Thing I like about it is that you can actually chip 4" bits with easy so unlike a lot of the other chippers in it cat where its 4" but really only does 2".
  6. Alright, I think we live in the same area ?? im based in brighton. i tried hiring one before buying it but there doesnt seem to be many places which have them . if you only need it for a day maybe see if you could Demo one from godfreys ?
  7. so i get the idea its fuel .. its cleaner.. better for emissions and the saw etc.. can you just run aspen or moto mix in your saw ( stihl ms200 or husky 550xpg) or do you have to tune the saw to run on it ? other than being expensive fuel is it that much better to work with ?
  8. With a bit of luck i should get our new warehouse unit soon, just waiting for it to all go through then it will go away inside every night with every thing else in the unit where its behind a massive compound gate and inside the warehouse which is alarmed. another company where looking for the same thing so we grouped together to get it but its just time now till we get the keys
  9. haha, appreciate the good vibes . manange to take down 4 40ft leylandii last week and fitted them all in this haa, had to use low range to get it moving but still saved me trips, I used on this 2 mm galv sheet to so it was a little more durable than ally and 5 mm rivets with self tap screws in each corner. this on the back of a tipper van youd be moving something like 14 cubic meters of chip but then not sure the transit would pull it .
  10. yeah im to buy a proper look either at the arb show next weekend if i havent done before, but its tucked behind some gates and my truck in the evening so if someone tried taking it they would be better to knock the house down and go out that way haha.
  11. cheers man, took me enough time haha, put a tailgate door on the back to so now i can tip ever quicker.. built like a grain trailer
  12. Finally finished it today , sign written and since the last pics we have now built a tailgate door to flip open. but thought id stick the pic up. Now for the next project.
  13. and weve also built a divider wall for the mild so we can have logs, and chip or clean wood chip and mulch.. can fit 9 cubic meters of loose chip in it
  14. i use mine every day, here my little set up ifor williams tt105 ( 10.5x5 ft) filled it up to 5ton before with soil and still tipped like a peach
  15. Hi Guys and girls, Just wanted some reviews on if i should go for a petzle helemt?? i currently have a stein one and i HAD a stilh up until 2 hours ago where it fell out the chipper haha, Driving home and chip box was full to the top so i decided to put it in the chipper with the bag ...yep... must have fallen out never happend before but now it has. so looking to buy a new helmet as a spare.. or maybe retire the stein. i like the look of peztle ones but never had or tried one so thought id ask ? aslo i have a small head so do they go quite small or will it wobble?
  16. And little Steve that trailers mint
  17. I'd go for the tt105 over the tt85 just as for all the reason above and if you know you can only tow 2t then just fill it half way .. Same amount as tt85 But just in a more stable trailer and chip Doesn't blow out the top. And that another good Point If you don't have low range box it can sometimes struggle If you brim the trailer .. I filled it up with soil to the top and tipped ok but the truck only pulled in low range haha only pulled it across the yard but still.
  18. If this works, pics of the ladder rack, on our third job today and still Not needed to tip it out . Way I see it is .. More profit from work = more Money to spend at arb show in few weeks time
  19. Roof is made from Alu as it was lighter and easier to take off if we wanna chuck logs in, but tend to leave it at home and just use the wooden boards from the Ramps to get the chipper in on top. As a chip roof!! We fitted ladder rack so it sits on cross bar to head board and then strap It down with racket. As for weight if we load fully up with chip and logs we can probs get 4.5 ton off a job but its towing is abit slow haha still Means you can do a whole job with out having to tip took us ages but well thought out little trailer .
  20. haha yeah the auto tailgate has its complications .. doesnt seem to open when i push the imaginary button , but yeah same as tipper in the sense where you dont have to stand about with remote then get back in truck then get back out to lower it etc.. hights the same as the original sides, we just grinded the mesh off and replaces with 2mm sheet galv so its good for hardcore to or aggregate and unlike alu sides they take abit of hammering with out bending or denting, weight wise there is a little more but not enough to worry about. we have got a roof that goes over the front half.. but just gets in the way if you wanna chuck logs on the top so we leave it off most the time.
  21. i built it to get round the weight issue as transits have a 1.5 ton load limit as trailer is a 3.5 ton trailer so if i get pulled then less likely to be over weight unless i fill up to the top with wet chip. plus gives me my truck back after work hours and leave the trailer in the lock up ready for the next day. plus we fitted wireless remote so you dont have to get out the truck to tip .. just like tipper.
  22. philmypower between two guys you can easy pull it up with a set of alloy quad ramps or on my own i use a 12v quad winch same to lower it out on my own ...
  23. i have a brand new ford ranger with a 3500kg towing weight, but i over loaded the trailer but seemed to tow it ok . few moments under braking i had a wobble other wise the tipper worked perfect was like it was empty couldnt be happier. wouldnt recommend overloading though but good to know if you fill it to the brim it still works and can be towed
