  1. Hey, if you still have this I maybe interested in buying it. I know it's a bit of an old post but it's worth an ask. thanks, Rune.
  2. I'm the same, the 461 is amazing and I generally use it over any other saw, I run a 20" sugihara most of the time, I think it is the perfect bar on this saw for hard wood at least, but it does run the 25" very well too.

    Ms260 bars?

aw wish i'd known there was a voucher code oh well. sugihara bars are so cool
  4. Rune

    What saw ?

happy with my 461 with 20 and 25" bars, very fast with the 20"
  5. yeah, but apparently yew wood contains taxine same as the foliage and seeds which is toxic to your heart, obviously all wood dust is bad for your lungs anyway so shouldn't be breathing it in in the first place, and I imagine you'd have to breath a lot in to die from the toxins.. nice wood, made a few knife handles out of it.
  6. dunno exactly what they're worth but I want one... just bought a 461 though so short on cash..

    Big saws

interesting, the stihl I'd really like to get hold of is an 076av or maybe an 056av never seen a good bargain one though, everyone is after them it seems, got my saw fix for the time being now anyway in the MS461.
  11. or not as the case may be, but what can you do about that haha..

    Big saws

big old stihls always sell for so much on ebay

yeah it is, it handles really nicely with the 20" not that the 25" is bad by any means! but I won't be needing the 25" that often, and the 20" is nice to use, it is actually surprisingly light to me having never had a saw this big I've got nothing to compare it to in use, but it seriously doesn't feel much heavier/more tiring to use than my little 280, just cuts a whole lot faster haha.

My phone ran out of battery today, but here is a shot of the 461 with the 20" sugihara, I will get a video of it cutting some of that ash soon, hopefully tomorrow if there is a dry spell got a fair bit of 20" ash now some for milling perhaps. edit: and yes I know the logs will be pressure washed before cutting haha

bit of a weird one, my sugihara 20" for the 461 just arrived, it says .063" 3/8P on the box and the bar?? but a 3/8" chain fits on the bar, weird? edit: is it just stihl that use P for the thin chain? I've only owned stihl kit before.
  16. still only the same weight and a bit less power than the 461 though, but a bit more power and a bit lighter than the 576, I went with the 461, nice saw.

    Ms461

oh and don't they have the part numbers stamped on them? most stihl parts do!
  22. Rune

    Ms461

ahh ok never mind, do you know if they're the same fitment as the 440/460? I've seen 460 ones listed but not 461
  23. Rune

    Ms461

that'd be great if you could find the part numbers! thanks mine is 25" at the moment too, but I'll be getting a 20" for it too, not worried about losing a little bar length though!
