    hey, thanks yeah think I will pop in tomorrow.. real shame I love the saw apart from that, it looks awful and just makes me worried about the casting generally.

    hotrod81, could you send me a close up of yours? tree_beard, true, however this is the finish of the casting, it's likely to be similar on the inside of the ports too surely.. my newish 201 has lovely smooth castings.

    I think I'm going to take it in to the dealer tomorrow, the more I look at it the worse it seems, it looks like a really poor quality casting. not what I expect from a stihl.

    Hey all, I just picked up a new MS461 and while looking at it the other day I realised the cylinder casting doesn't look great, nothing like my other stihls (ms201t and ms280) is this just how the big saws look or should I be worried? doesn't look great to me Just sent stihl an email saying it doesn't look great too, see what they say. Lovely powerful saw apart from that though..
