Following on from that one, we named this log today “Boris” firstly because it looks a bit of a prick and secondly because it will be burnt shortly!

Been running this saw for some time with no issues, but have been cross cutting some dry Yew logs. The chips seem to be smaller than other logs and I think some must have found their way down the right side of the lever where it goes down to the switch. Anyway it will not turn off when the lever is pushed forward. I have turned the saw upside down and given it a good shake and blow with the airline and can only assume that some wood chip has lodged inside the on off switch. Anyone else had this problem?

I assume the reason that you sent back the Hakki after two weeks was that you could not get on with the chainsaw. My Palax Combi seems very similar to the Kisa and the only thing I would add is that if you are cutting logs of over 11 inch diameter and about 8 to 10 feet long they are very heavy to deal with. But maybe I am just becoming old and weak unlike all you fit young hunks!

This guy seems to be putting some dry stuff through ok and although I usually use fresh cut branches I cannot see why there would be any trouble. I notice that this machine like mine has a yellow safety frame to cut out the tractor if necessary, but these machine are not like chippers which will pull you in if some loose clothing becomes caught up in a branch, I can hold on to the branch and stop it at any point. The Ukrainian machine does not appear to have a safety frame.

Me too and no problems, the TR70 was stolen so you need to find the current villains and I hope they have found a lump of steel fencing in a branch that has knackered their machine!

So Mr Nepia, I assume that you can see the video but Stubby and others say they cannot unless I post it on YouTube. This video was taken on my iPhone and posted via the usual “click to add image or file”. Do you or anybody else know what the problem is and how to solve it?

This has happened before when I posted an attachment, some Arbtalk era could see it and others like you could not. Anybody know the reason? I put them up on YouTube and then there is no problem

Put a new chain on the Stihl MSA220C electric today which I have done many times before, but this Stihl chain seems to cut like a demon with large long chips Wednesday morning chain as opposed to a Friday evening one? IMG_2365.MOV IMG_2367.MOV

I started with the B&S version but it was stolen thank goodness so bought a pto version for my Little Grey Fergie which was more powerful and cheaper. If there was a difficult branch with a big knot it would break the shear pin, which was tedious but I now run the petrol Fergie on idle so it stalls before the pin shears. They do an amazing amount of loggings in a very short time and my advice would be to grade a stack of branches, hire a machine for a day and someone to assist.
