  1. stick with stihl, stronger built ,less expense on spares and parts
  2. I would make up a short length of hose with 1 inch connection for digger and a 3/4 for auger, and leave both machines alone in case you want to fit other hydraulic units to them.
  3. if you are in no real rush for a saw and intend to do tree surgery for a living save your money and buy stihl !! those mickey mouse saws will drive you nuts when your 60 ft up and the don't start or fall apart ,however if you only intend to prune apple trees then maybe they are ok ....but even then I would buy stihl.
  4. try cannon super bars they do a 5ft bar ive got one on an 88 its heavy and un-wealdy but don't come across many you cant cut right through
  5. you can source larger bars for milling but a 395 isn't going to run them we use an 880 on a 5ft cannon super bar but they are expensive must admit we could always do with more power. Oregon bench grinder for sharpening saves hours.
  6. bashlins alloy shanks, replaceable buckles replaceable steel spikes had them for 14 yrs (cost £300 then) better than carbons because you could run them over and probably still use them.
  7. does nobody know for a roof mount for sale anywhere in England ????
  8. 18 to 25 per m buy all of it re mortgage the house if necessary.
  9. these are just the chaps ive been looking for I think I would employ them for the entertainment value. love the benny hill music (shame there were no semi naked women chasing them around)
  10. hardwood any where between 38 per m to 46 per m roadside depending on size and species in dorset /wiltshire plus vat

  12. hello trouble shooting manual says: engine does not deliver full power or runs erratically: CAUSE secondary air seepage through leaking gaskets on carburettor spacer flange/ poorly mounted or faulty manifold. REMEDY FIT NEW GASKETS/ MOUNT MANIFOLD CORRECTLY CAUSE piston rings leaking or broken REMEDY FIT NEW PISTON RINGS CAUSE muffler carbonised REMEDY CLEAN MUFFLER{INLET AND EXHAUST}REPLACE SPARK ARRESTING SCREEN hope this helps I would start with cleaning the exhaust and look at the piston and rings through the exhaust port for scoring .good luck

  19. hello got any army surplus suppliers near you? I bought some used bund liner which is like a rubber coated canvas it was available in up to 20m x20m sheets {which weigh about a ton} I just cut it to size (Stanley knife) and bought a £5 eyelet kit (hardware store) excellent stuff doesn't rip in the wind doesn't seem to degrade in sunlight (ive had mine 6yrs so far still going strong) 100 times better than all the other tarps ive bought over the years. was also told when the army finish using it as water bund liner they were using it to land helicopters on in the desert to stop the up draft of sand getting in to air filters on engines. its good stuff and if you find some you wont regret buying it . if you ever get a hole in it you repair it with the same stuff they repair avon inflatable dinghys with .
  20. ms 460 excellent solid robust saw put an 8 spline ring sprocket on it to wiz it up a bit eats wood on a 20 inch bar got enough poke for a 25 too not sure what the current stihl model is ...461 ???
