  2. No I think it's aluminium :-) (sorry I could resist)!!! Yes I bet it's over a grand!
  3. Is red diesel as good quality as white, only reason I ask is cause some farmers I know say modern tractors don't like it and the sensitive engine management systems pick up all kind of faults when it's in use?

    Nice truck

    Ooof!
  5. As spikeymickey said, nj aluminium linings. They seem to make great stuff. I don't own one but I have plans to buy a pick up and as soon as I do I am gonna get one of these. I saw a nevara with one on a used car pitch and it was very tough and sturdy!
  6. That's good going!

That's a good thing to keep in mind, I was brought up hardly seeing my parents as they are self employed also, I was turning the same way till my wife kicked me into shape. I can't be home every night in time but I damn make sure it's almost every night. I don't want to miss a thing!

Yer still awake, always awake! They do seem handy. I find it pretty hard to control them though. My quality of cut drops the higher i cut with them. It's something that I can imagine could pay for itself easily in a few jobs if used correctly. Another thing to add to the wish list!!! I'll be through soon silky :-))

Ha ha disturbing stuff! Ours are opposite so I am with you as one goes down one is just beginning to get ready for feed! Then one of them has reflux so he needs keeping upright for an hour after a feed! Honest I have never been so tired in my life!! Will keep battling on!

My days have gone from 06:30 to 17:00 to 09:30 to 15:30 and no time for servicing, sharpening, quotes and general paper work either. Someone wrote 'clean me' on my van yesterday which is a total first!!! I get in from work and I am given one of them which usually means one of them get a mouthful of saw dust!! Glad to hear am not alone as I thought we were struggling but it sounds like we are all in the same boat! They look all peaceful and quiet here but they are not!

Thanks for the advice, our parents are still grafting so we don't get much help. I am trying to help as much as can by doing washing, (can't iron though) shopping, bottles and all house related things but the pair of us are goosed! I go to bed at 10 and get up at 2 the wife goes at 2 and gets up at 7 or 8. Our 3 year old is doing well with it all but he keeps trying to pick them up which is interesting. As you say routine is the key to it all! Mark- how are you finding your work life? Any harder with being tired all the time?

We got a 3 year old boy and just had twins 11 week ago. What a bloody nightmare it is! Anyone else got twins, how do you cope! My mrs is needing me around loads to help with them but I need to get more work done? Any suggestions appreciated (realistic ones)!
  19. Vw caddy is great
  20. I have seen 110 pick ups with the 1/2 width tailgate not hi caps
  21. Sorry Chassis cab direct from LR
  22. That sounds like a hell of a collection!!! You have what I would like!!! Maybe in years to come! I think the landrover tipper is looking to be the clear winner at the moment. What is the best platform for a tipper? A hi cap or 110 pick up? Can't afford to buy a new chassis can direct from LR.
  23. Now were talking!

You should try and avoid keeping your rake in the back of the truck, it's far to heavy!!! 😆
  25. Everyone has been there, I am here now, looking through van trader, eBay and arb trader looking for the next possible vehicle. With some of my work being grass cutting and brush cutting I need something that can do a wide range of things. I need something I can chip into which can tow a chipper without having to do 2 journeys for a trailer which I have done in the past! I have one rule which I don't want to break, I work with only 1 other employee, we work together so I don't want 2 vehicles as then I think unless they are both getting used they are costing money and they are not really earning their keep. After looking through the arb trucks thread it makes me even more indecisive! It's doing my head in!!! One minute I am looking for a landrover hi cap next a transit tipper, then hilux's with a tipper trailer? I see some swear by what they own, some use a 3.5ton drw tipper and say they tick all the boxes? Some say you defo need a 4x4? I must admit it would be handy to be able to go off road but I have usually found a way round it? Tipping is an advantage but if I had a pick up which I chipped into then it's not gonna take too long to unload? The last 4 jobs I have done has ended up where the customers want the chip left on site anyway...happy days! The more experienced of you will no doubt have your reasons for driving what you drive, I know it's horses for courses and all that but for general tree work, and light gardening/hedges etc there must be a preferred vehicle? As much as I like to make my own decisions in life I think listening to the wiser people is gonna save me some money here long term. So any advice or pointers would be helpful cheers!
