A nice collection of trucks, I really like landrovers but people I know always say they are hard work to own and you need love them or you would loose your head with them. I think a few test drives are in order!

In the space of an hour my mind has been made up then changed again!!! As I say for now I don't mind unloading chip from a pick up by hand until I am happy with the truck then I'll get in converted to a tipper. Hilux landrover hilux landrover???

    Pick ups

Looking at buying a double cab 4x4 pick up. I am open minded to make/model etc. Up here in cumbria I am getting more and more people opting for having chip left behind on site so I don't want something with the capacity of a transit tipper type truck. I was going to build a canopy which can hold a small amount of chip onto a l200, ranger hilux etc and if I found it worked well I could convert to a arb type tipper. I just wanted to ask the people who have been there and done it as it were, do I get a cheap n cheerful £3k pick up or do I hold out for something £7k and upwards? It won't be my only vehicle but as I have a newish vw caddy for general Eco driving about. So if any of you have any suggestions, advice I am all ears. Cheers
  9. Proofs in the picture!! Cheers :-)

    Pro tipper

I remember seeing a few years ago about a fella doing tipper conversions for a all types of pick up, I have tried an internet search for him but can't get a contact number for him? Does he still do them? Or does anyone know is company name or anything? Cheers
  16. Not sure if they are still on the go their yard is no longer there. I'll look around though. Thanks
  17. Facelift in Newcastle said a 34m lift would be required. There is not much in carlisle for manned mewps :-( And with not having loads of experience I would prefer a manned one.
  18. Ha ha am a bit inexperienced but I would still rather ask for advice than make a balls up!
  19. How poorer condition does a tree have to be before it's deamed as unsafe to climb?
  20. Evening, Got this to remove as it is in decline, it all needs lowering as the paving below cannot be marked and there is a private driveway below which is out of picture. It looks better than it actually is but there is loads of dead wood in it. I am tempted to bring in a manned mewp for a day at a rate of £550 + vat. People's opinions and input would be appreciated whether you think I am doing the right thing. I want the job as the timber is mine to take also. Thanks Andrew
  21. Happy birthday Paul all the best to you! :-) Sent via postman pat.
  22. Yer I agree with this. Nowt as wired as folk! Don't stress, learn from it and head forward. You will be fine :-)
  23. Your right Chris it seems a bit strange?? Do you think he already has a job to go to? Sent via postman pat.
  24. The best of luck with your chosen path Paul, I think your thread in general inspires people to work that bit harder and strive to achieve more! You make people believe anything is achievable, and if you want it you can get it! Even my mrs likes a read of your progress through life from time to time! I really look forward to reading your progress on your next chapter :-)
  25. I bet this makes it all worth it Paul! Great crack
