  1. apparently Active mowers were previously Harry mowers, so if anyone has any experience then i'd appreciate the feedback!
  2. So has anyone had any experience with active mowers, a local dealership has them in stock and before I drop my cash this coming week I'd really like to make sure I'm week informed.
  3. Apparently the pro 47 is 19" vs the 21" of the Viking, I would consider the jc90 but this really is the maximum of my budget, excuse my fussiness but I'm considering this as an investment and so don't really wanna get something and later regret it. The JD would probably be the best fit in terms of size but I've heard allot of good comments on Vikings picking up damp grass.
  4. Ok so after looking around at various models I've reviewed my short list and is now looking like John deere pro 47, Viking mb756gs and possibly an atesia or active. Whichever one I pick must be decent on damp grass though.
  5. just looked at the john deere pro47v fitted with the subaru engine, i'm not really familiar with these engines so whats the general opinion of them? quality looking machine though.
  6. Does anyone have any experience with active mowers?
  7. Hello fellow forum members! So I'm in the market for a new mower and currently narrowed it down to the viking mb655 or the rover procut 20, does anyone have any experience with either of these mowers bagging wet grass (lovely welsh summers), parts availability and so on? Or any alternative to consider up to £800. Cheers for any help.
  8. i'm just waiting for mr chips to pop up.
  9. If you've got any other questions i may be able out with feel free to message me!
  10. I've only a few weeks ago sold my jansen, it was a good piece of kit to get myself started but i gotta say that its nowhere near as good as the greenmech which i've got now. its also worth noting the greenmech is also a little narrower than the jasnen if you're looking at narrow access but i do miss the swivel discharge chute. a downside to the greenmech though is its high centre of gravity which in my opinion at least does make it less maneuverable. major points in favour of the greenmech however are more HP, far superior build quality, parts and service, and the price beat the competition. I have seen that Haecksler have a new chipper coming out with 500mm wide blades so a better in feed mouth, the 18HP briggs and straton engine and still the same width as the greenmech and with a lower CoG if youve got the luxury of time i'd give this a look. Hope this all helps!

    Best 70cc saw

It's a 462, there's a lovely lady sporting one in the 2017 stihl calendar. As for fuel injection that would be interesting, they already have some grinders injected I believe but can't honestly see any benefit in going injected over electric carbs. Begs the question though how long wiIl it be before the first remap will be available.

Just to add too the confusion, but I believe the 462 will be out this year!
  13. Also, Happy new year to all I'd like to add!
  14. I'm guessing the 462 will be released in 2017, I noticed a few days ago that one of the models on the 2017 stihl calendar happens to be striking a lovely pose with it ;-)
  15. I was sceptical about the protos, but tried one on at the frjones stand during the arb show, and honestly believe the hype it is that good. Needless to say I bought one and still don't regret my decision nothing comes close, the ear defenders aren't the best for sure but it's not gonna be an issue. Hope this helps.
  16. I think most will say go for a treemotion dude, and honestly they are really good.
  17. I've read a review on another page and it was stated that it eats through carabiners, anyone having this issue?
  18. Now I've got a truck trailer combo, but I placed the order on account of the fact it would fit with only the small directional chute removed.
  19. As padman said the rock machinery chipper wont fit, neither will any chipper of a similar design like the haecksler unless you remove both the infeed and discharge chutes, i had the exact issue with my trafic so i've changed over to the greenmech but not just for this reason.
  20. Thats one of my considerations, i probably shouldn't be so negative but I'm thinking will I find it a waist of money if I'm using the wee chipper 95% if the time so I'd rather invest in much better quality kit that's gonna get regular use.
  21. i'm running a small chipper now (gte type machine) which has opened up more work now i'm looking to either upgrade to a cs100 or possibly a second hand timberwolf tw125, trouble is nearly all of my work has been with crap access so i'm edging towards the cs100 with the trailer and my thoughts are to hire in a larger chipper as and when needed. Also if the wood is large enough then its fire wood and i'm not in the habit of chipping up money. the point which i should of mentioned with my original post was to see how you guys are getting on with just your cs100's so i don't make a crap investment basically.
  22. So how many of you guys own only your wee chipper?
  23. It's a regular 2 stroke dude, but cheers for input.
  24. So as the title says my Fs460 is bogging on full throttle, I've changed the plug, cleaned the filter and I run aspen exclusively so it's not **** fuel. Anyone else had this problem with theirs? Oh Yeh it's mtronic also.
  25. so maybe comparing a m500 to the cs100 is a bit unfair and realistically I should be comparing to the m400, its probably worth mentioning that currently i'm using at gtm type machine now its not the best build quality but its opened doors for me enough so now I can get a quality machine. I've not eliminated the m500 by any means and at this point I've probably over thought every single aspect you can think of, the one single problem I do get with my current set up is the infeed chute tapers a fair bit so feeding can be a problem on some branches cuz they get stuck, with this in mind the jo beau's do seem to look better with the wide in feed on the other hand though the greenmech seems more maneuverable and with a shorter infeed chute which could overcome said problem. would someone please put me outta my misery!
