  1. Anyone have any idea how much the m400's are retailing at with the vat?
  2. If you could post a video of the chipper It would be much appreciated! As I said earlier I was at the arb show last weekend and seen the m500 on the global recycling stand, really nice guys and very helpful. I hadn't even considered the m500 until that point it seems it fits nicely between a wee chipper and a towed chipper.
  3. Cheers for the replies. Honestly I'm unlikely to put anything around the 5 inch mark through it, anything much above 3 I keep for fire wood and doubt I'll be challenging the self drive offroad much but I just like to know it's there if I need. I had a look at a m500 at the arb show and gotta say it's a fine machine and well built. As I said my other interest is the cs100 the price is very appealing by comparison and considerably lighter by some 100kg again solid built and also a good reputation. I guess the question for me is how much better is the m500 over the greenmech and is it 3.5k better at that.
  4. Anyone got a joe beau m500? i'm curious about how capable the hydrostatic drive is (steep hills and general off road) obviously i'm not trying to compare it to a tracked machine but it seems its a fair weight if you gotta muscle it about if its stuck. I've also been told it'll take 5" capacity all day and the occasional 6" piece if required, and finally how does it stack up compared to a 18hp cs100? hope you guys can help!
  5. Has anyone considered that stihl and Husqvarna make far more units than say echo or Makita/dolmar, and that there would inherently be more faulty saws with both leading brands due to fact their production is higher? only a controlled test would be fair so get whatever you feel is best for you.
  6. Does anyone know of a place to drop chip around the Bridgend area south Wales?
  7. there are small 13hp capable motors available, and light enough battery packs for them, if the available the torque is good enough though is the question. I think it's just a matter of time [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtjOcGdc85Abefore[/ame] its 100% battery though.
  8. did my first climb in it today and love it, been using a komet butterfly on my climbing course which was great at pinching my man parts and made leg movement a bloody challenge so bought the treemotion s light, so, so much better, just for the bridge length but the case could be argued my prusik loop is to long.
  9. lol cheers! cant believe the answer was so simple. very much appreciated!
  10. Hello peeps! i'm new to climbing and just bought a treemotion harness, the problem I'm having though is that the bridge seems to need to be shortened for me. Now I don't mind doing this however my concern is that if I cut the red stitching on the knots so that I can reposition them that it'll fail loler inspection. Anyone else had this problem or should I just leave well alone? appreciating any insight.
  11. Has anyone looked at a H1-b visa
  12. As would I be, it's kinda a kick in the balls reading your post. there is an immigration expo in London in October https://www.workingabroad.net/visit-events/workingabroad-london-expo-2016/ I don't know if this will help yourself, i'm thinking of attending this myself. I guess Canada isn't that dissimilar but not been there. I have on the other hand visited the states and loved it.
  13. that could also present an issue being that I've got little in the way of qualifications in that regard, just put in the effort and done my time, I guess i'm now what you would call time served, which may actually go for something but don't know how much over there.
  14. I'm 36, I should of mentioned that.
  15. I'm interested in packing up and moving to the good old U.S. the thing is despite trying to look up as much as I can find that's rellevant i'm still none the wiser about my chances of being accepted. Basically does anyone know what the best route would be find work out there? I have cs31,32 lantra chipper and have my climbing booked to so by the time a cs38, I've also 12 years experience as a machinist with at least 6 of those on cnc's, i'm 36 and no stranger to hard work either. Anything anyone can advise would be fantastic.

  22. Hello there all. I'm looking for some advice and hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction. I'm pursuing a carrier change to arboriculture from engineering. I've done my chainsaw and chipper tickets and all goes well i'll have my cs38 within a month. this leads me onto the problem there just doesn't seem to be that much regular work around. maybe a sub here and there but not consistent so I can quit my job, at least that's the impression that I get and i'm seriously chomping at the bit to get fully immersed in the business. So here's my question, just how do you guys do it? I mean how do you find continuous work? I'm constantly looking over the employment forum and never find much at all within a realistic traveling distance, my next step is to email every arborist I can find within 50miles a cv but hope someone can just give me a clue here what am I doing wrong. cheers if anyone can help here.! by the way own saws, ppe and chipper a small one.
  23. Used the jansen gte1500 on a job last weekend, 6 leylandi to remove, I have to say i'm well impressed, I did manage to block the ejection chute a few times, but later found that if I don't direct the chip down at a steep angle and throw it out I can basically throw stuff in it any way I want. i'll second the winch though I had mine in the back of my traffic and it was a pita getting it in and out. i'll post a small review and pictures when I get around to it.

  25. you couldn't ask for more, your gtm sounds like its done you proud and i'm sure there are hundreds of other uses out there who feel the same! its basically why I bought the jansen same reasons and just starting out, so if I could avoide spending 5k on a greenmech for now then that's great.
