  1. thanks difflock. its a wee jack Russell thing. nae my dog. previous owners. Does look good in Black.
  2. Just bought a 1981 MB trac 800
  3. My dad had one of the sealey ones on the back end of a 16 foot flat bed trailer. trailer was strengthened underneath. It did the job for delivering multi bag loads. could drag the bags to the back end with the winch then lifted them off ok. 1m3 Bags were a fair lift. no problem with builders bags. It was quite handy at times where he could crane the bags right into peoples garages. Wasn't amazing quality but for £170 it was great value.
  4. just drawings not thermal camera images
  5. Thermal images on here showing how the fan is supposed to help. I am not getting enough heat from my multi fuel stoves | Wood Burning Stoves I have one on my 5kw stove which sits in an inglenook recess and the fan really does help blow hot air out into the room and stops the walls and roof of the recess getting so hot.
  6. my 1490 & dads 1390 hauling home some loads of hardwood
  7. I work a facebook page for my dad (he is not the most computer literate) and its amazing how much sales we pick up through facebook.
  8. choppin to about 10inch long with straight soft wood, self loading = about 2m3/hour. a 27tonne artic load in 2 days with a tractor & trailer taking it away/swapping trailers Some guys claim they do a lot more but I'd like to see it & see how knackered they are afterwards
  9. Hello bobyrik We work a Farmi WP36 on the back of tractor, we tried a demo of a towable one first with independent Honda engine. It worked really well but it was noisier than tractor & often needed topping up with petrol if using it for a long time. Like Tommy said, it definitely punches above its weight for the money. I suppose the benefit of a towable one is you could travel further with it. We never intended going far so tractor option best for us. Try RIKO. we got a demo through them from their local distributor.
  10. My dad uses a bag of prawn crackers free from the local Chinese He says they are the best thing to get the fire going!
  11. Hello, We worked a jeep & 18 foot trailer with lightweight manual crane lift fitted at the back. It worked really well, a bit of a lift with 1m3 hardwood bags. Allowed us to do a lot of deliveries in one go. Now have a transit tipper that holds 2m3. handier for loading & unloading but you have to do more runs. Pickup is a lot handier for getting into some places.
  12. my dad has a 1390 as well that he usually has on the processor. Old major has taken its place for the winter as it takes up less room in the shed.
  13. thanks Brushcutter. it will be tidier next year once its had some paint work & new decals. Its not Hydrashift. standard gear box.
  14. just bought a Davy Broon 1490. On the log splitter just now but will be using her for hauling some logs from time to time.
  15. Hi, I set up a facebook page. A basic website via Yell.com which was fairly easy to do and easy to update, costs about £9 a month. (you can pay them to set it up for you) Also put an ad in Gumtree. Have tried local papers but not much success. Best for us is Gumtree & Facebook. or good old Word of mouth.
  16. Hello, We got a price for a handle and it was £260+ bale twine is effective and you can get a lot of it for £260
  17. Drove this power major home on Saturday. Will sit nicely inside on the processor.
  18. We do loose & bagged option. charge a bit more if customers want it bagged, some wont pay extra for bagged. we use a 18ft flat bed trailer with hand operated winch/crane a the back to drag & lift bags off. handy for doing more than one delivery in one trip but recently bought an old transit tipper that holds 2m3 and this suits most customers & it far less faff loading and unloading.
  19. my dad just made a basic wooden frame to hook the 4 loops onto then unhook them before lifting the bag on a pallet with the forklift. How much does one of those frames cost?
  20. That's the one Jimbob. mostly pallets & thinner boards like that. it claims you can do 60 or even 100 bags per hour but theres no way. you'd need a squad o boys feeding it & filing bags. It works away though.
  21. My dad does a fair bit of mobile processing with his Farmi processor & Davy Broon. A lot of local customers buy in artic loads of wood and he will process it all for them. £30/hr for man & machine. Get through a fair load in a day, especially if the customer helps with emptying trailers or if its just going into one big pile.
  22. Hello Rupert, We are also considering a briquette press and Northern Energy Systems are only a few hours away from us so we may go & see them sometime soon if they have a machine for us to see in the flesh.
  23. My dad uses the prawn crackers that comes free with a Chinese. Like the Doritos they burn well & really get the fire going.
  24. My dad works a 16ft flat bed trailer with his Toyota Surf. Trailer fitted with a hand powered crane/winch at the back for lifting off large 1m3 bags. Allows him to do a few deliveries in one run. Probably get 5 or 6 cube on in one go.
