  1. Quick thanks to Garden Kit for the advice. I'll give it a look, I'm not that good with engines, so will see what happens. Rich
  2. Thanks GK Air filter I can do. Now the carb cleaning is a bit daunting. Do I take it off or just undo something? What does a spark arrester look like? It's not burning oil. If it comes to a bit of longish grass the engine sounds laboured. It's the Kawasaki engine. Thanks again Rich
  3. Good idea. I don't have a bench but do have an Asuka that doesn't seem to have enough power. I shall be watching closely.
  4. Rod and line is sooo last year. You have fish that jump into your boat. Aaaannnd back on topic. Whose leaving?
  5. Absolutely! Even if it has Conkers growing on it ... Hornbeam
  6. I would like to contribute more. I look everyday to see if there is anything I can help with. Not a lot usually. I did once tell someone what to use to remove tree sap from cars. That's about it really. Oh, and if you need a really long bolt to fasten a gate, you can use a garage door drop bolt and fit it horizontally. Usually people are asking about Mogs, mini diggers, chainsaws and chippers. As I don't have any mechanicleness in me I just look at the pictures. I do sound very knowledgeable now when someone asks what species a tree is ... Hornbeam, obviously, so for that I thank you. I really like seeing what you have all been doing too and the good humoured banter puts a smile on me face. All in all Arbtalk is a really nice place. It's sad when there is a bit of a squabble and someone feels they have to leave. I hope they can join in again one day. Take care all. Rich
  7. Spiders, worms, maggots, frogs no problems. Thinking about what you say I am sure it's the fast little ones that freak me out most. Once one of them little feckers has got a grip of ya ... S**t, my ar5e is twitching just thinking about it. How should you get them off if they do bite you?
  8. Ha I can't even touch the pictures in that link!
  9. So has anyone actually overcome their fear of snakes? If so how? I could not harm one, mainly because I would be running in the opposite direction, leaving Usane Bolt in my dust. They don't even have to be real a kid at school put me in hospital when he cornered me with toy one. The doctor said it was programmed into me probably from the Stone age a faulty Gene or something that reacts to the markings. Then he fetched one of those plastic baby toys made from red, yellow and blue sections nothing could look less threatening. The last thing I heard him saying was this won't make you run off. But it did. It's not often you hear a nursing Sister shout WTF? In a hospital corridor.
  10. He should have gone for a lunge instead of a roll
  11. Thanks all for posting. It's nice to see how it should be done Rich
  12. Aha, no fooling you. I am definitely an amateur. Plus the guide dog run off with me bit of string
  13. I'm having today off and getting withdrawal symptoms So sat here looking through last years pics. I keep forgetting to take a before pic sorry. This garden had not seen any tlc for about a year. Cut about 2' off the width and 3' off the height.
  14. Where is your like button? I can see friend or message buttons
  15. It is called 'Tardis' from Autosmart. Or any tar remover. I can bore you stupid with car valeting. Autosmart G101 is a good all purpose cleaner too. Then you can finish off with automotive clay. Not from a field Make sure the vehicle is thoroughly washed before doing anything or else you will scratch the clear coat.
  16. I don't say much. But that is a very nice post Skyhuck. Now to spend my winnings. A simple life, a cottage in the woods. With a yard that looks like it's been frozen in time. Milk churns, hand powered grindstone, higgledy, piggledy sheds. Some logs I can split with an old axe. Make sure friends and family were looked after. Several charities too, and I would give some money to that place in Scotland that breeds wildcats. Rich

Finally fitted a bolt to replace the lead rope.
  18. Make it Smartphone friendly. I hardly use the computer now Rich
  19. You have to get imaginative with your locks. I've been helping a couple of mates fit internal security features to their workshop doors. Nothing illegal, they just don't work how you expect them to. They have also concreted steel beams either side of the doors with a barrier across as an anti ramming feature (my job was digging the holes and mixing the concrete ) It shows how times have changed we could all remember when scrap prices were so low they would block the door of the coal shed with an old gearbox. Rich
  20. I like it. I'm confused though. Telula? Have I missed something? I thought she was Lucy. They use these with a van body on to carry the stuff for cleaning the bus shelters by us. They can work without waking anyone up. Did you see the old milk float on Amazing Spaces made into a camper van Rich
