  1. It probably wouldn't have crossed the mind of a ford driver just to lay the filing cabinet on its side and not add the go faster window free option

Providing you have a driving license, get your basic tickets first in your own time. Think of every qualification as a stepping stone, then you can decide if the industry is for you without jumping too deeply.

Just don't squat in Mrs Miggins garden, hiding the evidence amongst the daffodils.

Is that better or worse than the illusive Shart ?.
  5. It's not really practical in modern stoves as they want the flue temp above the dew point but low enough to not be too hot to damage the twin wall and create a fire risk. Most modern stoves are approx 120c, think that's the figure I've seen somewhere. Plus over time anything higher would damage steel, cast not so much but the flue isn't cast.
  6. Sand yes, but personally I'd replace it with something newer and more efficient. You'd probably get half the price back of a new one on fleabay
  7. MS261 with the 14 or 16" any day of the week. Yeah it's more expensive than a MS251, but practically the same weight but with M tronic for better grunt and has two stud instead of the 251 which constantly need tightening or slacking. Unless you're on the logs all day, stay away from the 18" as it's slower and heavier.
  8. Or got gazumped
  9. Whinne the Pooh's poo ?.
  10. I still sell & repair equipment and have moved almost entirely to single phase and transformer driven electronic BLDC type motors without any real loss in power. Usual HSE type of thing, even now people seem to be gravitating even further to 110v.
  11. Is it just your dogs, or do other breeds eat them locally?. Just wondering if it's something that's native to the dog breeding ?. Or maybe earth balls are edible early in life, like a reverse tomato?.
  12. Maybe an early truffle ?. Do they look to have been buried by say a squirrel beforehand and are they next to roots, aren't most fungus type things symbiotic?.
  13. Yeap, it made life easier than explaining 3 phase to people. We had a green light in the on/off switch mechanism too, so it was either green for go or red for no!.
  14. If you're running on a 16a plug get phasenwender, they have a screwdriver turn on pins 2 & 3 allowing phase change without rewiring the plug. I did have a thing of fitting phase rotation relays to equipment with a red lamp interrupt circuit. So it turns on when ok but red lamp when attention needed.
  15. If it's professionally installed it should be a 32a trip but also check which type of breaker is fitted, Type B, C or D. C or D are better for welders and large electric motors unless fitted with soft starters as they pull a absolutely scary amount on startup.
  16. I think that Christmas pint might be tasting a bit salty from all the tears. I have to ask but what's a set of blades going to set you back?
  17. That's pretty much what I've said all along. You've then done your part highlighting it to them and it's on record 🙂
  18. So you would be happy if I trampled through your property and proceeded to fell a tree ?. Just because it's diseased or dying doesn't give anyone but the owner the right to do as they please!. Once it's fallen over that's a different kettle of fish and do what's necessary.
  19. Just don't waste your money on surveys, maybe speak to your local councillor as well. My option of a snotty solicitor letter including pictures, location map etc. If it went south you did your part, do not under any circumstance say you'll do it for them, these wildfire trusts are not short of a few quid and generally do nothing except taking donations, Google says 4 Million in donations and 1.4 Million in salary's!.
  20. We also need to bare in mind this is not your tree!. Whilst it's nice doing something for them, if it was me I'd make a example out of you trespassing and effectively doing criminal damage if you felled it. We've given you ways to communicate with them, a further option would be the council tree officer.
  21. Via letter never email, preferably with a solicitor. As it's not your tree, you're advising them you will take full legal action should any damage occur including to your boundary fencing etc.
  22. Say 100 litres of water plus me at 80kg = 180kg + bath around 150kg for a cast iron one. I can drag a cast iron bath but not lift, so at a guess 150kg. 180+150= 330 kg at a lower estimate.
  23. Ooh a business opportunity, for a ARB specific debt recovery service. A 2-3 ton concrete block shaped like a tree trunk in pink with debtor emblazoned.
  24. Ring them and ask. You don't need to regularly remove it, UK fuel is pretty clean. If you're worried add an inline fuel filter instead, dirty fuel is usually down to poor transport.
  25. I have vague recollection of a similar thing breaking on my venom log splitters with a heavy handed dad over tightening it.
