  1. Yeap, that the idea. Whilst older open fire types say baxi burnall had a vent under the fire ash pan it was still open flue. If you've can fit a outside air kit, it's barely even worth discussing not fitting it.
  2. Regardless of the size, room sealed with a direct vent as you can't rely on air leakage for supply regardless of the size. Simple analogy, you don't light a fire to keep warm and leave the back door open or fit double glazing and leave the window open.
  3. Calm down chicken little, next you'll be trying to convince me the war criminal Blair wasn't all bad as it was just the one war on terror. So you're arguing 100 murdering scumbags is worth what 3 hostages is a fair deal ?. The art of negotiation is both sides getting a fair deal, it also helps having a bigger stick or atleast gods own boom stick if you want a historical reference.
  4. No, that's not how it works.m as you called it a branch. If you want to be pedantic, I couldn't care if you're a man, women, llama or sock puppet. It still doesn't change the fact you need to use whichever grown arse section to speak with them and then put up a real fence. This is not an echo chamber of suggestions that meet your narrow ideal of what you want or expect to have been suggested. If you want to go legal be my guest and prepare for a very very large bill as getting petty is the beginning of a thin edge of that legal wedge.
  5. Funny that. Still sounds like you and your neighbour deserve eachother. As I've said before you're a grown ass man, go speak to him as such and then put up a proper fence. You don't have to like a neighbour, I dislike and despise some of mine but I can still hold an occasional conversation when necessary, the rest of the year ignorance is bliss.
  6. I'll give it a listen later. I'm involved with a mink project myself, so maybe similar setup with monitored text message traps, DNA samples etc. Problem with squirrels is location and idiots thinking you're doing something wrong, limits where and who you can both trust and deal with. I've had to explain to the mink lot many times, I don't want anyone to notice the trap, zero dark and dirty almost clandestine.
  7. They were advertising for a job the other month, the reds have wised up to a free meal.
  8. I dunno, I certainly make up for it locally. But to be honest I don't think there are any trees that are resistant to greys, as it's primarily saplings that attract attention initially same with deer. I look at it as native tree will feed a red or a grey, but a non native would probably only feed a grey when a sizable tree so a negative long term for the reds.
  9. Just shoot the bloody things and plant native. Is a cart backwards argument to not plant native because of a non native pest.
  10. Just change the sprocket, had the same issue on a mates top handle MS201T I got asked to repair the other week. Similar worn out sprocket, fitted new sprocket, needle bearing and clutch springs as one had snapped. Almost like a new saw for about £50 including new AV bushings. Plus that's a husqvarna style outbound clutch, you can't use a spacer as it drives the oil pump via the ends of the teeth.
  11. I was going to try to describe it like a bike derailleur. It needs to be able to move smoothly around the sprocket under load, a groove can cause it to strain the chain, like being in high gear going up a hill.
  12. That sprocket is fit for the bin, anything more than a light indentation and it needs replacing.

  14. If the Kubota engine is anything like the forklift ones, the fuel filter is just a tiny type without a water drain. Probably best to just keep going until the tanks empty as it'll recirculate or dump the lot and change filter think mine was like £7 from a car spares shop as they're the same as those on Hyundai.
  15. I've always wondered how they keep the dealership so clean, maybe the pre delivery inspection is actually filling it full of it's first of many refills?.
  16. I'm going either water in the diesel fuel or possibly a coolant leak under heavy load, if it's been sat in the yard for months frost damage maybe as white smoke indicates moisture. Heavy load is normally black or grey unless it's Baltic. But I would be tempted considering the work on the fuel system to soapy water spray to make sure everything is nipped up tight and no leaking or split hoses sucking up air.
  17. That and badgers, they definitely eat hedgehogs.

For less than £30 it's probably worth a punt.
  19. Jesus probably doesn't even know if Judas stabbed him in the back
  20. Hence why I was asking, I get the chemistry aspect of it all as it's basically creating a syngas of volatiles. Wasn't sure if the extended cooking caused the carbon to turn more to carbon dust than say a lump.
  21. Well as reading obviously isn't your strong point, see second sentence. It's was a perfectly valid question, as yes it is carbon its physical structure of an identifiable piece of wood may have turned into proportionally more fines with more cooking.
  22. I get the fast Vs slow pyrolysis, as that's with added oxygen its effectively a gasification log boiler. But you're charcoal retort keeps the two separate, carbon can't burn without Oxygen. Presumably Vigen isn't getting it hot enough then ?.
  23. Can you actually overcook charcoal. I assumed as it's oxygen free its more a case of cooking it without wasting extra time ?.
