  1. Hi folks. Needing a climber for a couple of jobs possibly next week or week after. I'm based in Livingston but the jobs I'm pricing right now are in Cambuslang and Hamilton and I don't have climbing tickets.... So pm me here on arbtalk, ping me an email on [email protected] or call 07487582375. Payment would be in cash after the job, plus you can take the trees for whatever you want them for. I don't do firewood!
  2. Reasonable rates too... Hurry and book me up....
  3. Willing to travel throughout Scotland, obviously got me own saws an ppe, got 3 current first aid certs too!
  4. Drop it, it's not a native species
  5. Hi folks, Lee here. I'm looking for work doing ground based forestry (as opposed to climbing work!) in the Scotland area. Got all the usual tickets up to multiple windblow and including ANY TREE OVER 380mm. Also have high pole pruner and chipper tickets. Done a Fisa refresher last March and also got a super-visor ticket out of it too. Got nearly 15 years experience of woodcutting and can still drop trees like dominoes If your interested in sending work my way then call me on 07487582375 or ping me an email on [email protected] Thanks in advance, Lee Williamson, Williamson Forestry
  6. Hi folks! I'm looking for a couple weeks work in Scotland doing ground based forestry. I'm about to take on a 6 month contract as a supervisor and need to earn some pennies before the salary work starts! I'm based in Fife, but I'm willing to travel and sleep in the back of my car if the money is right! Also, I've done FISA refresher training
  7. I recently planted up 300 trees in around around an hour and a half using the notch method. The staking and tubing took longer than I expected though! Took the rest of the day for it! 5 foot tubes! Still, it was my first time doing planting and I hope it's last.... I'd still rather cut them down lol
  8. Just replaced a barrel and piston on my old 357xp, feels like I'm getting great compression, but gonna take it to the shop for a proper check before I try start her
  9. Awesome thread I managed to tip the trailer on an ox-trak today.... Gotta put the legs down first
  10. They had two trucks there..... Why not top it into one and chunck it into the other? Tree looked a piece of carrot cake to climb. No ropes, just spikes and a flip line, get up the inside, knock it's head off
  11. Hope that heals up quickly! Got to ask though, did u have ur thumb wrapped around the handle and a firm grip of the saw? I had many kick backs in my younger days and the saw never lifted that high so had to ask.... Any way, nice pics and heal well
  12. Saves climbing it I suppose
  13. That's how I've always done it.... used the pointy end of a file to stab the holes in the lid
  14. I know someone selling an iron horse for 3500.... the right track is needing some slight work (dog tooth clutch isn't engaging and and brake shoe keeps jamming on making it difficult to steer, but that's all easy to fix out, no major problems with it) If I had spare cash at this time of year I'd buy it myself. If you pm me your number, if your interested, I'll pass it along. It also comes with a logging trailer and silky trailer. I've borrowed it a few times and when it's in good condition it will work all day, lovely wee machine.
  15. Ice, wrapped in a bag, wrapped in a dish towel, stick it on the achy bones or muscles. Marathon runners sit in an ice bath for 15 minutes to stop the pain. Also reduces any swelling from the inflamed joints too
  16. Nice job there, I liked that vid
  17. I'd advise u to watch ur fuel once u got it outside and working, u never want to run a husky dry, they don't like it.
  18. I saw a 254xp on ebay not long ago. Starting price was £100. Good thing about them (if it's working mind you) is that it will run for what seems like forever!
  19. Don't go for the 550! The 560xp is about the closest to the 357 u will get. But u can get smaller saws if ur just snedding out branches for the chipper. 353 is ok
