  1. My normal day rate is 125 for an 8 hour shift that includes my lunch break. During winter, when it's too cold to stop, I charge 135 per day. But that subjectual as I blast through 6 litre of fuel in less than 7 hours, and some contractors aren't happy that I show every one else up. During summer I'd much rather have an hourly rate of 17.50 -18 an hour.... but I'll eat on my time, not the bosses, and I'll go through 12 litres of fuel per day, or the equivalent of a 14 hour shift on the saw. You want a good rate? Put the effort in
  2. Hi all. I'm a freelance, self employed woodcutter with many years experience on the saw and for the past year I've been working all around Scotland. I'm now looking to limit my weekly travel to try and spend more time at home with the wife and kids. If anyone can help please email me on [email protected] Many thanks in advance, Lee Williamson, Williamson Forestry
  3. Seeking work in Scotland. Got all ground tickets and loads of health and safety. Been running my own business for years but struggling to get hold of forestry right now. Very experienced climber too, but got no tickets for that Based in Livingston, but willing to travel for right price, or even just a normal price if it includes lodgings 07487582375
  4. Woodcutter needing extra cash for xmas. Can work right up to xmas eve. 07487582375
  5. Skilled hand cutter desperately seeking work in Scotland. Call me on 07487582375 for more details. Cheers, Lee
  6. I've just finished a quote for planting a hedge of hawthorn. Only 14.5 metres long, and it's all bare root stuff they want too. Let's see if it comes back with a thumbs up for me
  7. I'm looking for forestry in Scotland at the moment. The work I had on has just been pulled from under my feet and I'm feeling the pressure with Christmas coming on! Can cut any tree size, multiple winblow, and various other tickets. Only things I don't have tickets for is climbing (which I still do extremely well!) and machine operating. Doesn't mean I can't learn to drive them within the hour though! Been on the saws for 15 years now and there's not much I can't do.... except put money in the bank for when I get a couple of slack weeks! Got every thing needed for starting first thing in the morning, except the work! Send me an email to [email protected] or call me on 07487582375 for a wee blether. Give me work and I will bring cake for everyone!
  8. I still keep pricing up conifers wrong. Some days I've made a quick escape with their cash, others I've went back for a 3rd day on a two day price just to clear up the brash. But my prices still seem to be good, but not too good I don't get the job. 2 guys with a chipper and tipper comes in at between 5- 600 depending on area, cars they own, that sort of thing
  9. I've used every cheap crappy oil out there and my saws have all run great on them all. Used oregon red for years too. Saws still running. bought stuff from b&q, and saws are still running. I now use husky's LS+20 as I have a couple new saws which are meant to run on 20% less fuel for the emissions, or something like that? Anyway, with 20% less fuel going in that means your getting 20% less oil going in.... So I'm using the good stuff now, and the price per litre is only 2quid above oregon red. Cheers, Lee
  10. Bloody awesome tool! Do they sell em for huskys? ;-)

    Airdrie job

Hi. I'm needing a bloke with a chipper and box van or box trailer or something to take the chip away. It's for topping a load of leylandii trees plus some other pruning work too. PM or call 07487582375, or email [email protected] Cheers, Lee
  12. It is in Cambuslang, maybe a trailer full, maybe a little more. Will give address when asked for it!
  13. Thanks guys. Think I over quoted him! Could probably do it for £2000 with either hiring all the kit, or paying another company to help me
  14. I don't have a chipper and a truck, would have to hire someone for that, but yeah, it's a lot better than my previous idea of running trailers all day!
  15. Busy on the domestic front, having to take guys on to help me out cause I cant do it all on my own! Forestry has slowed down for me though
  16. For the first 7 feet its a bit thinner, but the tops are massively wide. Customer is asking for 2 quotes, one for a topping, taking them down to where he could reach himself, the second is full tree removal including the stumps. Got the first quote sorted, but struggling to find a decent price without over charging the guy
  17. Quoting! Not confirmed the job yet so can't be charging!
  18. Got some trees to take down and need to off load some timber in the Airdrie area. One job is 21 leylandii trees and I'm not looking for much for the wood, maybe a fiver cube to cover my petrol....
  19. I have 21 leylandii trees, 20 foot tall, 10 foot wide, all needing removed, including the stumps.... What kind of price should I be charging for this as I don't want to shoot myself in the foot Cheers, Lee
  20. Cherry and whitebeam need taken down, might as well give the pine a wee prune to take off any dead branches and tidy it up while you have the climber out
  21. Position has been filled. Thanks to every one for replying
  22. Still trying to fill my diary with Forestry work. Very experienced cutter....
