  1. Got stuck in on Friday evening while waiting for someone to come and collect something, nearly all split now, probably 10 rings leftπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ
  2. Dexta fired up for the first time in a long while for some attention, and the MF Industrial doing some more splitting πŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. Obviously not my photo but what a beastπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ
  4. Big pile of Sycamore logs ringed up yesterday ready to splitπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ
  5. Mine comes out fairly regularly (as in every couple of months) as it sometimes means we can get the tracked dumper out on a hire without me having to use a wheelbarrow πŸ‘πŸ‘ I take both that and the tracked dumper sometimes, means I can still be loading something while the dumper is being emptied, or if I'm on my own it cuts down the amount of times I have to get off the digger πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
  6. Anyone else see this winch setup, on Facebook i think? Looks very cool, I wonder how they're getting on with it. My Giant has an Anderson plug on top, a Quadbike winch plugged into that will probably be the only winch mine will ever see πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
  7. Had to get all the mini Fleet out earlier, looking good in the sun. Hardly ever all together- dumper has just come back from 3 weeks hire, going out again tomorrow, micro digger has been in and out loads recently and the muck truck has been busy with my Dad. The Giant has been keeping things tidy round the yard, helping me out with things like taking the chip box on and off, testing the auger and making light work of a big Ash fell- 4 ibcs worth of split logs came out of that treeπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ Got a job coming up with some hefty oak gate posts, going to be so much easier to auger the holes, fork the posts close to the holes and slide them inπŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. Muck truck was my first machine apart from the digger really, still very useful, been out lots the last monthπŸ‘πŸ‘
  9. More logs than I've had in for ages this week. A big Ash that I felled last week, all cut and split, about 4 ibcs full, drying in the sun. 5 or 6 ton of Sycamore collected yesterday, first ton processed yesterday. It's made lovely logs but they were literally running with water as I was splitting them. I plan to leave them out in a long low pile in the barn until I need the floor space, but I think they will need to go in ibcs outside for the summerπŸ‘
  10. Firewood (and lovely logs its making too,πŸ‘πŸ‘) A mates dumping ground has expanded too far forward, the land owners wanted some of there space back. If it was milling timber I'd have found a way, probably taken the mill to their yard with the Giant on the truck...
  11. Got loaded by a Sherpa this morning, very impressed by what it could manage on the skiniest tyres, in deep mud. Got to have a play myself, feels much smaller than the Giant, but it's on wheels 1/3 the size, and it's dangling 75kg of grab, not my superlight pallet forksπŸ‘πŸ‘ The grab really impressed, definitely want one of some kind for brash but for timber I prefer my forksπŸ‘πŸ‘ And has been said before, smaller weights, handled quicker, are definitely the way to get the most out of these machines πŸ‘πŸ‘ cut that big log in 2, pick 2 bits quickly and easily, rather than fighting with 1 right on the limit πŸ‘πŸ‘
  12. I'm 'normally' pretty good with keys, but I've done 3 things recently that helped lead to this disaster- Moved the trailer that lived in front of the container, where I always used to put the keys down Took off, used and broke the snap gate krab that used to be attached to the bunch, that I'd sometimes clip them to my pocket with if I was just nipping in and out Borrowed the Tile from these keys for my car key as I'd driven to a stag do in Edinburgh and left the yard keys safe at home. Oh and my Dad, the other person with the container keys, had just gone away for 10 days, otherwise I'd have just got him to unlock!πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
  13. Testing/playingπŸ˜…, 6 post mix, 4 wet sand, 2 cement, pallet. Wheels flat on the ground till I put the 2nd bag of cement on which was also further away from the head. Definitely enjoy having this around the yardπŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. Locked my keys in the shipping container yesterday, 50/50 which one it would be, obviously I cut my way into the wrong one firstπŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜…πŸ˜…
  15. Making itself handy about the yard, makes jobs like this so much easier! Even just being able to move trailers about without unlocking and hitching them up is a massive time saver!
  16. For what they are, yeah they're a bit silly money. Mine were Β£100 from a farm sale, adapted with scrap, currently bolted on but will be getting a set of brackets next week, bringing the total cost to Β£150 and a couple of hours workπŸ‘πŸ‘ They're a very versatile attachment.
  17. Anyone made/use something like this for their skidsteer auger set up? I've got a couple of ideas, always good to see moreπŸ‘
  18. If we're trying to avoid using the right thing at all costs and want to get maximum lift height, put the bag of rakings on a pallet and use pallet forks?πŸ˜…πŸ˜… Or cut down a nearby bt pole, seems to work πŸ‘
  19. On and gone, putting the ramps away the easy wayπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ
  20. Trailer load of timber out on the forks, then pulling the brash out on a rope. Nice to have some room to work for a change!
  21. But then the payload goes down because of the extra weight of the 4wd system πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ But if you could have that as a 5 ish ton, with no licence restrictions (how it should be!), then yes, as described with the highest power option and 3.5 ton towingπŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. @Andrew McEwan for your windblow and nostalgic reasons πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ‘πŸ‘
