  1. I remember reading about using a canoeing/kyaking jacket with sealed neck and sleeves. Anyone tried these for climbing? I like the idea of sealed sleeves for that final decent when you're prussic wrings out all wetness from your rope and it all goes down your arm!
  2. Will do mate, haven't had a chance to change them over yet and only doing silky reductions 2mo so it'll be next week now.
  3. Renewablejohn- where about are you based? I'm always looking for places to offload chip and logs.
  4. I was always told ash and holly burned ok green....obviously better when seasoned. Anyway the main question was really about whether that type of ash was as good as common ash. Cheers for your input.
  5. Is narrow leaf ash a good for firewood as common ash is and does it burn as well green? Cheers
  6. I've got both and for done reason the tes seems heaps better. I have got a 16" bar on the Wes which might explain and its much newer so I'll give it time (got my yes 2nd hand) but gonna change onto a 14" bat on it 2mo so will hopefully notice done improvement. It's still a good little saw I think but my tes just seems heaps better at the mo.
  7. Ah sorry, it's the one at the bottom of the handle nearest the oil filler.
  8. Anybody know the best fix for this other than replacing the whole part? Cheers
  9. So I've bust one of the wheels on my cs100. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a new one over the weekend. Dealers etc are closed and I can't find the exact spec/part number of the wheel anywhere. Does anyone know if they are very specific to this machine or are they common wheels on other small plant? Cheers
  10. Arborisk mate. James and Dan are great to deal with.
  11. I've been using ramps and an electric remote winch to get it into a vivaro size van. Good set up for solo use.
  12. Looks good ty. I'd like barn doors above at the back too. I'm also tempted to do away with the original low sides and build it all custom with half a roof and ladder rack. Anyone done this?
  13. Can we see some pics of all your tipper trailer chip box conversions. I'm also gonna be making one soon, hopefully with a sliding section at the front to give space for my cs100 on it when needed.
  14. It would probably have to be 2mo mate. A sensible price for the wood and delivery would be acceptable, obviously there would need to be access and space for a large hi-ab to drop it off. Cheers
  15. As shown in pictures. I believe it is mainly oak and some beech. It has already been sat cut for about a year. Couple of fair size butts there. Collection preferable from close to slough area (good access) our delivery possible but would cost a lot. Pm me if you are interested, all needs to go asap. Thanks
  16. Any pictures mcwood? Also, how much does it weigh?
  17. Has anyone got any experience with these trailers. I'm looking to buy a tipper trailer and heard bad things about the new IW's. Whilst looking into it I think Brian James ones seem quite good then I found this: NEW Debon Tipper Trailers 3-way & 1-way Electric Pump Mesh Sides Alloy Sides | eBay Cheers
  18. I'd read that greenmech had revised there torque recommendation for the bolts. Can't remember exactly off hand but it's about 5 lower than originally listed in the manual. Doing that has worked fine for me.
  19. They are just fine from Saturn and cheaper than from the dealer. Can't remember exact price, give them a call 2mo. You should get at least 3 sharpens out of them as long as they haven't been too beasted and remember they are double sided too! It pays to be very anal about what goes through the cs100 as the blades are expensive and the machine runs very sub standard if they are not really sharp. Saying that, if you're careful you should get at least 10 hours of solid chipping done on each sharpen (if not more) if you're careful. Cheers
  20. Don't Worry, it'll fine when the blades are all good. I had the same issue when I first got my second hand one but on inspection the blades seemed relatively sharp. Turns out they'd been sharpened on only one side. Ensure correct angles on BOTH sides of each blade.
  21. Mate, that sounds like incorrect angles on the blades. 2 sets is a must and I use Saturn knives. I always add an extra note with them specifying the exact angles.
  22. Yes it should be fine mate. Mine goes in in a vivaro van all the time. Two people can lift it in at a push but ramps make life easier. Also just make sure that there are strapping rings on the transit to ratchet strap the machine to.
  23. Wicklamulla, does that hide you're chipper fully from view or does it poke out of the top. Also, what's it like to winch it up on that? Have you attached some wheels to the front of your cs100 purely for that purpose? I'm using a panel van with electric winch for mine with no front wheels on but I'm thinking of getting a pick up instead.
