  1. To auto tune or not to auto tune, that is the question. cheers, steve
  2. Dropping 1,000s upon 1,000's of cookies (the right way up) into the bottom of little plastic pots travelling along a conveyor belt and on to the next person in line who pressed a button to squirt some custard /jelly like substance. In comparison people in arbwork have nothing to complain about, regardless of anything! cheers, Steve
  3. Lovely day here in far West Wales today. The forecast for tomorrow is grim. cheers, steve

    Dolmar

Cor and I was seriously toying getting one of those but went for a 550 instead cheers, steve
  5. Grand job that. The gas fire was condemned/ disconnected in our house here. Neighbours told me the last tenant was getting bad headaches.... so aft we bought it I took it all apart and found the flue was stuffed full of rubble, presumably due to where the external chimney stack was removed and fully capped! Total insanity! After removing a fake wall/ fireplace I found an old cast iron cooking range. Can't use it due to the missing chimney pot, doh! Why can't people just leave houses as they were originally built/ intended?? cheers, Steve
  6. With you there mate. We've had a few "pros" on other houses and a few were appallingly, um, wrong! Although some of the "pros" we've used have been extremely excellent. Cheers, Steve and by the looks of it you're doing an awesome job. Most of my building efforts seem to be spent fixing other people's bodge jobs. cheers, Steve Is that in Provence?.... I love the wonky red tile roof.... and from your photo I can see why French roofing is so rustically charming. Awesome. You have sunshine too!! cheers, steve
  7. I'm not jealous at all, in the slightest, not one bit. We, by far, prefer our view of a brick wall and the roof of next doors garden shed roof. cheers, steve p.s.... Base and Billy; we couldn't afford to get all those "pros" in unless we re-mortgaged. Would rather live with work in progress rather than debt.
  8. Good work. Nice big window you've got there. cheers, steve
  9. ....just finished painting the ceiling. Doesn't look any different to what it looked like before. Why did I bother? cheers, Steve
  10. Tidy job that. Time to move in and make it your home. cheers, steve
  11. Cool chart I'd be somewhere in the competently lacking in time zone. cheers, steve
  12. Today's job has been chipping vinyl paint off one of the walls....needs a splot of paint. Our son helped (5 years young) until i chipped a chunk of flaky paint in his eye, he had a little cry and then came back insisting to let him do more. I also feel like crying about too many DIY jobs. cheers, Steve
  13. Ah, well it's kinda been like this for over two years now, but yes it's on the list of jobs that need doing. The toilet mains inlet decided to explode last week and we had a waterfall coming from the top of the stairs so that became a priority at top of the list.... unfortunately didn't have time to get any photos. cheers, Steve Thanks, but I'm too very busy watching Jeremy Kyle. cheers, steve
  14. Anybody else enjoy and un-enjoy doing DIY jobs at home?.... ya know, things like painting, decorating, tiling, plumbing, carpentrying, carpet fitting, floor laying, wiring, fixing, bodging ....and other 'ings. Most of our DIY is work in progress over a long period of time. Been like this for a while now.... cheers, steve
  15. Why does it always rain on me? Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?.... nah!.... it's because this is Wales (where people spit on me). cheers, steve
  16. I live in Wales and also have the SIP Keiue (however it's spelt) jacket. The armpit vents are great, so now, even when it's raining, I can show off my super cool string vest. cheers, steve
  17. Not been on the saw today but jeesh the weather was bad..... so after 6 minutes of being out (in that) I drove back home to do some kitchen tiling (Laura Ashley). This is the most posherist bit of our house, so don't get the wrong impression! cheers, Steve
  18. edit: I've got a Thermos flask at the moment (as per the link above)... not a Stanley. It was 6:25am when I wrote that. Sorry. cheers, steve
  19. I've got this Stanley flask at the moment and it's been very good. Holds the heat well compared to all the other redundant stainless steel flasks littering our kitchen cupboards. Thermos Mondial 1.8L Flask: Official UK Thermos Shop: Large Thermos Flasks cheers, steve
  20. When I was trying to start mine from new it was definitely flooding because the spark plug was sopping wet. So yes it can be easy to flood an autotune husky saw. I was pulling it about 30 times in the choke position!.... drove me mad! The fast idle position is your friend. cheers, steve
  21. No need, it's got auto-fuel technology. cheers, Steve
  22. Know the feeling, I had a 'mare trying to start my 550xpg from new..... pretty sure it was because I was flooding it by pulling it on the choke for too long. From cold, pump the bulb primer about 6 times, pull the starter cord, as soon as you get that first firing sound, knock it off the choke to the fast idle position (one step down/ not all the way down). Then it should fire up within 1 to 3 pulls. For hot starts its a bit different.... I do 3 pumps on the bulb, flick it up to choke (don't pull the start cord), then down one notch to fast idle.... then pull and it usually fires first time. Its not as complicated as it sounds, just takes a bit of time to get used to different methods. cheers, steve

    Any Arbpoets

I was tripping, on a fantasy as the sun went down, to night and as the moonlight lit the stars beyond, I stare into her eyes she says to me I've got to go and leave your life behind 'cuz I'm a loser, she had to go and leave my life behind I've had enough, of lonely love and I'm so, tired my lonely love cheers, steve
  24. To me that looks like a bit of Pork Scratching. cheers, Steve
  25. The heated handles on the XPG are luverly and well worth the extra spend. I had the brake band snap on my 550xpg a week ago which cost £9.80 inc postage (fitted it myself).... apart from that had no problems. Cheers, steve p.s.... starting from cold; 6 squeezes of the bulb, flick switch up to choke, pull 'til it fires, flick switch down one notch (to fast idle) and it should run on the next pull. starting from hot; 3 squeezes of the bulb, flick the switch up to choke position (don't pull) then down a notch (to fast idle)... usually starts first pull. Try not to run the tank dry or it my be a bugger to start, try to switch the engine off as soon as it starts to splutter, or fill up with fuel before it does.
