    done the Bay of Biscay in a force10 twice, 18 hour rollercoaster
  4. same size as yours but £2 a bag now min. order 100, i did some big batches out at the beginning of sept which cleared all stock, timber is getting hard to get hold of but just picked up a 7.5 tonner full tonight
  5. so far 8000 bags of kindling since august plus 450 bags of sawn softwood chimera logs

  7. depends how much a load you are paying surely? a 40 ton load off the fsc is £500 delivered round here
  8. depends on the size of the bag? if you can fill 3 1mx1mx1m bags out of 1m of cord i'm interested:lol: on a side note:001_rolleyes: i am yet to buy any wood by the cord in the trade
  9. metric:laugh1: 65d x 330l x 23h in feet had a few quotes for an all in price, looks like i will be more hands on than i thought and split the job up
  10. lift with forklift? just add suitable ballast to the frame
  11. something like this instead of the spring they have a ram, the base is higher and tips straight into a trailer

  13. a local yard uses ibcs, they have a frame which they lift up and onto by forklift. its basically 8 steel uprights (2 per side of the ibc) the frame is hinged and has a ram fitted for tilting very quick for filling and controllable

  17. there is a guy at the end of our village does firewood, artic per week coming in. he tells me he has sold 500 cubes between may and august, he also sells seasoned and has 100s of ibc's full. he tells people the difference, nothing wrong with that another guy is on gumtree selling seasoned wood which is still standing-he is offering to cut trees for nothing and waits until he has a buyer for the wood, thats just wrong
  18. 8-12 hours before it needs refilling, the fire is only opened up for lighting, shut down the rest of the time
  19. when my first child was born we went to stay in a 5* hotel, they had overbooked the cots, guess what we ended up with:laugh1:

  21. is it a old house? i wanted to do the same but building regs said no. the room behind the stove can get cold, the rest of the house overheats!
