  1. So yes we could have probably pushed them over but we have the winch and didn't want to risk it going wrong! We are normally in the woods without much other stuff to hit and the wind was gusting up to 40mph ish, as well as it was so easy to just chuck the cable round. Just press the button rather than messing with wedges! And the grass was wet and made sense to put tractor and chipper there keeps the chips in the same place.
  2. Yes it is a 12 inch pto Bandit its brilliant will take whatever you can throw at it!
  3. They were starting to mess the drive up and were inappropriate for where they were. And no payment unfortunately it's one of our leased property's on the estate!
  4. A bit of felling used the winch to be sure because of the winds and chipped up all waste left on site.
  5. Out today felling birch clearing the back tree to take the ones down close to the houses and with the start of rot in the base.
  6. I know its not a car stuck but thought it suited this thread!
  7. True but as ever its the battle between protection and still having enough gaps for lights and this tractor has 6 lights on the front of the bonnet!
  8. Our new forestry machine its amazing and heavily guarded for the abuse the the woods give!
  9. It's amazingly wet still it's been on the ground. Apart from the live wood which has pretty rotted away, it's hard to tell that it has been down that long looks like its green.
  10. A couple of the really shaky bits we are just putting a flat side on them they will go back out on to the estate as benches. The other bits will be milled for posts and rails for tree boxes again used on the estate in fields with cattle in.
  11. Is holly the sort of think that anyone would be on the look out for? We have some quite big bits at work which could be milled down if people were willing to pay for it.
  12. How is holly to turn i haven't tried any yet? I surpose it's quite hard
  13. First try with leaving the bark on the top and also first try on the new lathe.

  21. Bracken brusiers work really well it takes a few years of rolling before it will kill it off. You want to be rolling it now and then at least once more later in the season. Bracken brusier, landbase sell them lots of different sizes, worth looking in to.
