  1. Here we have a 357, 3 550's a 560 and the 390 all xpg. Love the 560 but the 390 with an 18inch bar runs nicely as well!!😊😊
  2. Defiantly wouldnt burn spits a lot. Good timber (poor mans oak) will last 15-20 years in the ground untreated. It on the whole doesnt move much at all, the thing to look out for is shake though can often be quite bad in chestnut.

  5. Should have taken a picture before i took the cover off!
  6. Something probally a stick had gone up into the cover in the second picture and dented it causing the metal cover to rub on the drive chain. (making the funny noise!)
  7. We found out what the funny noise was on our winch today!

The battery saws themselves are fine its the batteries that are holding them back at the moment.
  10. Its very pretty grain hope they dont split on you.
  11. Todays job was burning up the bonfire! It went well nothing better than a tractor loaded bonfire.
  12. The base was potentially quite rotten which is why the stump was 6 inches too high! Its fine it just ended up being another bit of habitat. (someone who steals it's fire wood)
  13. Hang on you can only see one and the other one is being stumped in the picture. (by the way it wasnt me felling) 😊
  14. More like yesterday's job but here we go. We felled a couple of birches mostly for tree safety. Meaning they were rotten.
  15. They arent quite my first i did 3 larch ones as practice then a spalted beech and then these 2 but as with everything practice makes perfect
  16. I have stihl hiflex and have lasted 2 years so far alough they are starting to get quite ropey around the bramble line. Im looking at getting the arbortec ones next time does anyone know if they are any good?
  17. A couple i did this evening after work. Some quite dry sweet chestnut, not the best ever but not too bad for early days i think!
  18. We were building up the bonfire pile from all the brash from recent felling. Probably wont be burning until next week though.
  19. Cool thanks ill give the paint ago as we have loads of old paint pots with little bits in lying around. Then i can put the blanks on the shelf in the garage that the paint is on atm! So when i come to turn them just put them as normal then the paint will come off? I know this could be a very vaige but how long should i dry them out for?
  20. Today we were clearing out a foot path, mostly birch felling.
  21. Ok guys im very new to this, i only started turning a couple of months ago and was wondering what you guys use to seal new wood and what is the best way to store it. Im thinking mostly of bowl blanks as we have a sawmill at work so will probally be green blanks. Thanks
