  1. I think the job looks absolutely fantastic. Regards D. Blunkett It'll look alright from my house:lol:
  2. Yeah I've taken a look,I fancy one myself now. Cheers eddy Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Is that a top handle?
  4. Yes they do if the old ones are really battered, i changed mine recently and the performance is much better. Conifer now ends up in the truck instead of on the road. Mine had lumps missing from them. I'd definitely fit new ones though.
  5. We were working on a job once and the home owner turned out to be a complete arsehole. various things throughout the day had rubbed me up the wrong way. The final straw was when the guy stood there talking to us sipping his tea without an offer of one all day. Now I don't know about you lot but a cup of tea speaks volumes for me. Whilst carrying branches through the garage and constantly snagging on one of those strings that hung from a joist with a cork on the end, that would touch the screen to let him know when to stop whilst parking the motor, I had an idea. So before i left I moved the string 2 joists nearer the back of his garage:sneaky2: Don't know what happened, but i never got asked back there:biggrin:
  6. If you don't like your neighbours, climb over the fence one night and put weed killer in their water butt. when they water the flowers they die but they think its because they need more water:biggrin: I have never done this by the way, i love my neighbours
  7. Source the hottest chilli pepper you can find and when down the pub discreetly enter the toilets and rub it up and down the last dozen sheets of bog roll and carefully roll back up. Sit in pub and wait for victim!!!!!!
  8. Alright alright I'm mental I agree, and I'll certainly look into this a bit more as I'm all for making life easier. I think time just passes by and that was the way I was taught so i've stuck with it. Thanks for the advice. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. Definitely, its a no brainer
  10. If you're concerned yes. If nothing has been done underhand then he won't have a problem with your querie. In my experience all work to trees in a conservation area or trees covered by TPO have to be applied for via a planning application to the council.
  11. Sorry to hear that, it sounds like he needed the dough. Good luck to him.
  12. I've got a pair exactly the same as that:biggrin:
  13. Your luck will change, keep smiling. I always thought pop was crap firewood so £100 does sound a lot, it's the sort of thing i'd be happy to give away just to see the back of it
  14. It's not what you know but who you know. You were too busy ringing it up:biggrin:
  15. That's quirky man, I love it, AWSOME:thumbup:
  16. I've never heard of a tree officer making a verbal agreement to work being carried out on tpo'd trees, sounds a bit suspicious to me. Maybe it depends on the area?
  17. too set in my ways i suppose, but i'll certainly look into it though. Thanks for the advice...
  18. I bought the wife a memory stick, it's great! She hasn't forgotten my beer, dinner, or sex once since the first beating.
  19. Sounds interesting, it's not a technique i use ( i'm old school). 40 meter new england and 2 prussiks with change overs as i go. The method you use that i here quite a lot about obviously has less friction which would no doubt be a lot easier on my tired old frame:biggrin:
  20. Am i right in thinking that you use a throw line for this technique and anchor your rope to the base of the tree?
  21. On a more serious note i think Catalpa smells of tobacco
  22. You can often smell dogs **** in our woods, nothing unusual though:lol:
  23. Keep out of mc donalds:laugh1:
  24. Yeah that is a hycrack and quite old as you say
  25. nigella you little minx:001_rolleyes:
