  2. nice gloves arran!!!!were did you get them ?
  3. Good call, same family I think but i'll stick with with my guess.i can't see any fruit in pic and as they ripen soon on a mulberry, should be able to see some? Still could be though.
  4. There are two, DAVIDA and VAR which has narrower leafs which looks like the one in pic's. Was it in a park or similar?
  5. Handkerchief Tree? Are the leafs shiny on the back?

Because they are exspensive you don't want to use more per stump then you have to. A rough guide to how many to use depends on which tree stump you are treating for example you will use more on a 20cm poplar stump then a beech stump the same size. I set them at between 3 to 4cm on smallish stumps and 6 to 8cm on bigger stumps with one in the middle for good measure. Mite not be going by the book but it's work'd on all what have used them on so far. Jut be careful when you order them though,it's a minimum of 100 at £60 plus drill bit at£6 plus delivery at£10 plus VAT ends up bout£88 for 100 so best order 2 or 3 hundred if you can.
  8. Yes I know what you are saying and as always it is best to see any job. But was sure that someone who deals with logs and priceing volume of timber day to day could give me a rough idea of price per ton.so again thanks to all who gave me a bit of direction.
  9. Thanks jeanesy for that and all who gave an opinion.Times are a changing in our line of work and if you can stay one step ahead of the next guy that can only be a good thing. The thing is no matter how good you may think your priceing is on jobs there always seems to be someone else under cutting you on the price and how these guys make money I don't know. A little of subject I know but only want'd a little advise so thanks to all who gave it.
  10. Just ring'd into workable sections not split have made sure the client understands this. Just need a straight answer to how much 5 or 6 tons is worth either to sell on or do a deal with the client so I don't get done and I see the client o k and everyone a winner at the end of the day.
  11. It.s not that often I get ask'd but to be fair he has already agreed the price for the job and is an alright guy. Just want to be fair and I here what your saying and I do think that it might become more common as more people get wood burners and clients who have a few large tree's which need felling and know the price of logs etc now want a little discount or keep the wood and log it them self's. It is a perk of what we do I guess but there's plenty of meat on the bone and will still make what I want on the job. I would guesstamite between 5 or 6 tons of nice beech.
  12. What tonnage did you get of it and did you sell it on or log it your self? Just that I have 2 to do similar size and the client would like a deal for the timber. Just a guide really as to what would be a fair price either to knock of the quote given or what to sell on for? Thanks for any guidance.
  13. The lidl ones are spot on and very good they even have a button on them which you press when you want a chat. Went in this morning they had 4 sets in so brought 2.just never know if and when able to get them again.
  14. Nice little website.nice and simple and clear to understand and not all bell's and whistle's and joe public like it easy to understand, should get you a few jobs at the very least people will have a look.well done.
  15. Not herd one yet, live Worcestershire west mid,s used to be realy common around here but then they started cleaning up the many miles of canals which we have. lots of the reeds along the margins were dug out which is were the they liked to lay there egg in the reed bunting nest,s I could be wrong but makes sense to me and may be if and when the reeds grow back they may return.
