  1. Yep same problem have had my flex for a few years now.Not going to start trying to find a fix and to be honest I shouldn't have to and it's not the cheapest harness around. It might be a call to see what they say. Apart from this annoying thing I must admit it is a really good comfi harness but may be time for a change.
  2. I got the red pair and while I was at it the yellow brases, helmet and red grip gloves.just fancied a change from the orange and black.all very well made and great customer service. I think a lot of us guys will be trying them as the price is well worth giving them at lest a go.
  3. Engalbert strauss half the price and as good if not better. Its worth giving them a go and in 3 colours.Includeing the old VAT £119.
  4. I think the client is splitting hairs here and trying it on.in my world removal of tree would be down to ground level and that would not include stump that would be a separate price if not already specified in original quote that price included stump removel.
  5. way up the cost of doing the tree against what it will cost to do the stump and if you still come out with clear profit just do it and say thank you ,shake his hand and be the bigger and better man.
  6. It's only going one way,it;s happened a thousand times before and will always be the way when someone wants to go there own way. Just try to handle it in a professional manner and remember it.s not personal its a job of work and what you do to earn money and that's what comes first.
  7. There could be many reasons why she changed her mind and you will never know unless you go knocking on the door which is very unprofessional at best. All I would say if you feel that you do need to do something just send invoice for a fair amount that you think would justify your time etc. if not just put it down as another lesson learnt and as already said walk away. It's your call.
  8. Are you worried that if you don't see your boss ok with price on him using your kit he could be bit funny about it and make things awkward for you? Or is he a alright kind of bloke who understands the cost of things? f you think he could be a bit funny then that's a different issue.
  9. Considering the circumstances and the way it is I would go £180 and you are saveing him minium £100 and he will know that a man his chipper plus van or pick up etc would be at least £250 aday. And just to make sure let him know that you know that.Don't be silly when it comes to making money and letting someone use your kit. They won't look after it like you would and if hireing you aswell don't get a REP for being cheap.
  10. There was one similar at the A P F show this year awesome work and exspensive I would think but you can't put a price on quality.
  11. Ya if anyone needs to replace there boot on a regular basis because of cutting them to bits best find another profession.
  12. HI jack No they don't just well built and toe tector.must say though have cllipp'd mine a few times and no probs but understand were you coming from.

  14. That's the O C D in me saying take the fence out lots would have just try'd to back cut and took a chance with mashing up a few slats.
  15. Either took a few slats out or cut through frame work and then nailed back on to posts 5min job to make back cut easier.
  16. Think your priceing is spot on.don't ever a REP for being cheap orther wise you will always be priceing the crap small jobs. Put your price in.stick to it unless cash is offerd and then that's down to your choice then.
  17. Let me know how you get on and when you sorted? And yes we will be doing another REC CLIMB probley april now trying to make a weekend REC CLIMB and sort some big trees.

  20. Hi Jack The Arbortec is a good value for money harness,K ,B's as long as twist lock and decent quality it's personal preference. When you say adjustable c,saver do you mean multi and or pulley saver? As both can be used as a c'saver. The pulley saver is a few mtrs long not to sure if its 5 though. Just go on the GUSTHARTS link on the side they have both and show you the set up.

  24. It.s a give and take thing I guess.she has her own career but she still does all my quote and even they need to be done a certain way orther wise she has to do it again. Am sure it gets on her narves a bit the way i'am but we just get on with it.spose just think it's luck of the draw who you end up with. Don't get me wrong there are many days when trying to be perfect, keeping all your gear clean.wearing all your colour coded work stuff etc, etc.people don't realise it's bloody hard work trying to be super perfect, and has we know we can never be perfect but for some reason it does't stop us trying.
  25. we can't help who we are and how we focus and when I think bout it i like who and what i'am even when b'ing so dame fussy bout how perfect things have to be I would.t have it any orther way.
