  1. He'd enjoy the chase more than I would!
  2. Saw a bloke in Morrisons last night wearing a pretty summer dress. Maybe that is the answer. Big hairy arsed lump of a bloke, not a sweet little thing by any means. The sort you wouldn't really pass comment to.
  3. Buckled mine by leaving it on draw and falling asleep. That was years ago and I still have the stove. It is the only heating in my living room and must be 35 years old or more. A Yeoman, certainly had my money's worth out of it, or more my Dads money as he bought it all those years ago and wouldn't be surprised if it was second hand then. Replace the rope now and then and the bricks probably once a decade.
  4. Ever heard an injured hare? Anyone that has would agree. The noise they make is indeed very troubling.
  5. Foxes can scream like a girl/woman, puts the hairs up on my neck every time. Rabbits will squeal more than scream. Injured Hares scream like a baby being murdered, that sound is just sickening.
  6. http://sealandsurvey.co.uk/ Worth asking them
  7. I like what you did there. Yeah, I remember John's posts. Without looking them up again I think it was an Esse Ironheart he had.
  8. The question was as per the thread title, but I guess you don't have the answer. Nor does anyone else it seems. Maybe I already answered the question myself and a Thermo Rosa is as good as anything.
  9. I'm thinking politician. Answered a few questions but not the one asked.
  10. So is something like a Broseley Thermo Rosa as good as it's going to get then? Cousin has one and he's pleased enough with his. Mine was a bigger version and it's the bee's knees as far as I am concerned but they don't make them any more and it would be too big for my new place anyway.
  11. Why's that? I don't try and keep it in because I know it's a waste of time trying. I have two other log burners in the house and I can keep them in, presumably because they seal up better and maybe because i do tend to burn hardwood on them.
  12. I have a Broseley range cooker that does DHW and CH. Love it to bits but I am moving house and it will be staying behind. I really want something similar in my new house but what is considered the best? The biggest fault with my Broseley is that it needs refuelling every 3 hours minimum so won't stay in overnight although that could be because I burn mostly leylandii. My Arrow stove stays in well though so not just wood type. Any experienced recommendations?
  13. I ended up getting it on a few sites including ebay. Think it is possibly more to do with a rubbish connection than anything
  14. Haven't used them either but all telegraph and electric poles have them or similar. You may have seen the silver foil backing on it near the base of the pole.
  15. These conditions are usually fairly localised. People from all around the country were telling me how wet the winter/spring was but if your bit wasn't it is no surprise.
  16. The exceptionally wet winter is very likely to have compromised the deep roots. They may well still serve as an anchor but unlikely to be fit enough for water supply to the tree. The trees have to rely on shallow roots for that and around here the shallow soil is literally bone dry. I've seen a lot of silver birch seriously struggling, some of my mature apple trees are looking desperate and a mature oak that was seemingly healthy has snapped off its roots. Noticed another oak shedding small branches too (like they do in early summer to combat caterpillars) which must be a sign of stress. Kept my newly planted apples alive with an IBC and hosepipe, I think the fact they had been pot grown has helped with them.
  17. You often hear people here saying such things, then you go to a different country and they say exactly the same thing about their system. I have concluded that it is unlikely anywhere else in the world has even heard of our system and would find it a bit of a joke if they did.
  18. They "bleed" an enormous amount from cuts.
  19. I buy firelighters in bulk off ebay and use half a firelighter and some very dry leylandii to light it. Chuck it all in, light it and walk away. never fails. My missus uses about three boxes of firelighters and two of the biggest smoothest logs she can find. Puts the boxes of firelighters on top of the logs and sits by the fire blowing on it. Repeat until it lights, usually the fourth go or until I come in and bollock her for being so thick.
  20. Rusted on by the sound of things.
  21. I can see them And what beautiful pics they are, the grain and tone on those slabs is a joy to behold! Windows 10, Chrome and smug.
  22. Still got mine. Mine had peep sights rather than open (I guess that's what you meant rather than a scope) More accurate than any Airsporter or similar of the time.
  23. I had a S200 and that was a belting gun for rabbiting. That came from the shop in Peckham, odd really as I live miles away.
  24. He put go faster stripes on it as well. Goes like a rocket!
