  1. The wife treated me to a new set of these I broke mine about 3 years ago and for one reason or another, work, family, finances haven't managed to replace them. Off to dig my bike out the cellar and clean her up ready for her new forks.
  2. It's about 18 cm thick at the thickest part.
  3. Abergavenny, South Wales, GB
  4. Just cut this Lime burr 45 cm across Anyone interested in making any offers on it?
  5. My dad wears a pair of these and loves them! But he was told he couldn't wear them for highway work as the reflective strips weren't big enough.
  6. Are you going to the Arb show? They are bound to have them there!
  7. I wouldn't expect anyone to lend an expensive bit of kit like that out. I am we'll jealous tho! 👍
  8. I've wanted a GRCS for years but can't convince the old man to buy one, awesome bits of kit! Yes mate that was us on the river, I'm glad you were upstream of us I think we lost a few bits downstream!
  9. It's never too young! Son with a sounding hammer..
  10. I don't think picus is effective at determining the extent of soft rot, but could be wrong
  11. I would be careful, the decay looks fairly advanced, the tree looks like it is grafted and the decay, the graft and the included bark all meet at the same point. I'm not sure what effect the Kretz would have on the graft, you could try sounding with a nylon hammer to try to determine the extent of the decay. How much room is there in the carpark behind? Could you put some 1 inch thick steel plates down on the Tarmac and winch the tree backwards?
  12. The cross section showing the black demarcation lines.
  13. I think this is Kretzmaria deusta on Beech But then wondered if it could be early stages of Bjerkandera adusta because the brownish colour doesn't seem to fit with Kretz and there was no black charcoal crust present, however the cross section has the black demarcation lines associated with Kretz ( pic will follow). Found at 15m again which also isn't normal for Kretz but I have found it at this height before. Possible that both fungi were present. Any thoughts?
  14. Cheers, il give it a go👍.
  15. Is it the same for the I phone?
  16. I was thinking about doing the PTI but I think they expect you to have 5 years experience report writing which I don't have. Don't know if I'm ready! How long before you do the retake?

    What's ur surname Pete?
  18. That's true, fortunately I managed to complete it within the allotted time. I think the resubmission cost was £15 per assignment which could add up over time!
  19. I think the thing to remember is as long as you are prepared to put the time in, you will pass! Every assignment you hand in will either get passed or handed back for resubmission, if it needs resubmitting they will tell you where you are going wrong and guide you in the right direction, work can be resubmitted as many times as it takes till you get it right.
