    Grafting

    Hello everyone,has anyone done much grafting?(trees not work).It's something I been planning to experiment with for years now,did a bit at college but that's a while ago.It's time for me to give it a go,I'm thinking palmatum's for one to try.Is anyone doing/done much?Ornamental trees is my interest at the moment but fruit trees could be good to get into too.I'm also looking for any good books,if anyone can help?all the best R.W.

  14. Hello Dave,I personally would never put a price on any job without seeing it in person,as there are too many different factors to take in to account,even detailed photos can be totally misleading.All the best Rupert.

I am in need of work,Bedgebury,Hawkhurst area but will travel,All relevant NPTCS,9 years climbing,chipper and grinder tickets,7.5 tonne licence,worked for AA approved contractor,lots of experience most types of arb work/sites.I have also been on the AA Bats and trees course and have worked on sensitive sites.At the moment even a days work would be good.Oh and have transit tipper.Cheers Rupert.   17. I've just done a similar job for a farmer on an over grown wind break, about 30 pops. 50-60ft down to 20, pulled with tractor. Poplars should come back with vigour and act as pollard from then,no probs. I did make sure of safety, ie being aware that pops are brittle, cutting fast and confident, and getting position right should something not go quite right,if that makes sense. I used to live in France and they do have some different ideas with trees generally, but have been cutting them as long as we have. hope all goes well.
  18. Thanks for that Andy, computers are a problem for me, drives me mad, but still keep trying, am getting help from eight year old daughter. Genuine new member.

  21. very interested,I have got relevant nptcs, chipper ticket, grinder ticket, 7.5 tonne licence, 9 years climbing. I have worked for AA approved contractor. I would need to come back to UK on a regular basis because of parental responsabilities, could this be workable? I can be quite flexable. would love to work in Sweden, have visited a long time ago. all the best hope something can work out. Rupert W
