  2. Does yours have the issue with the chain brake steve?
  3. yes agree with on /off swithc sometimes mine says off and its still running:lol: not good i know its only 5 months old, i mist out on the last of the 200t by about a week
  4. what a vid:thumbup1:
  5. yes me too, using it today and it was better after a good old blast out with wd40. however even with a strip down and clean it doesnt seem to be right, if you press it right infront off the on off button its fine but if you press it nearer the pull cord side of the chain brake handle it doesnt always go on, may phone up jonsie and see if they know what to do
  6. was using my 201t today dismantling an ash, the chain brake was becoming realy awkward to operate, would only work from certain positions on the handle, the saw is only 5 or so months old and the chain brake assembly was clean, the main bar and chain nut was not overtightened so i dont know what the cause could be..??? could it be it was a really hot day so thee problem like a thread not to long ago about the 660 chainbrake not working. any of you guys have the same problem?
  7. 55+ mpg from the 106 van, even with a trailer
  8. Yes, well on most jobs its back garden work , work near lanes, on estates etc etc and just get the idea that a big chipper might be a bit overkill to start with, yes i know they chip well and have there uses, but i just think a small chipper looks far more pro than jumping down on brash in the trailer will see what prices i get back, big fires, thanks again.
  9. well i wont be chipping huge stuff, prefer to keep them as logs as i sell firewood anyway. i like the idea of the narrow access like you say its sometimes easier to drag the chipper nearer the brash when in villages or tight places etc... it seems to be a good little chipper, nimble light and quite strong, im aware i could get second hand chipper but its doubt been hammered so rather have a newer small chipper if that makes sence. will see what prices the gm guy gets back to me with.. thanks
  10. Looking into chippers, the gm cs100 looks like a good chipper for those ( like me ) in the early stages of their buisness. 4" capacity gravity fed 18hp electric start vanguard engine... is it any good.?? i dont want a huge chipper as to me anything over 4 ish " is logs. thanks:thumbup1:
  11. mines say 6 months old and side by side with a 200t it sounds quieter and not as zippy, but cutting the same size log its just as quick if no t quicker, think its a bit more torkey, i think the avs are are good so it doesnt feel as rapid as the 200t but seems to cut the same, dont know if this helps lol
  12. as to budget, yeh will be around 5/6 k, just need to get my tipper sorted 1st, landy i reckon!!
  13. yes i do, been splitting some tonight as i finished earlier than expected, probably split 3 or 4 loads so £3/400 not bad for a few hours
  14. think the exenco is ruled out, far to rusty, bit big and heavy and old so parts are ruled out. whats the options.?? greenmech 2ohp diesel, timberwolf 150 dhb. thanks:001_cool:
  15. how much is not a lot mate?
  16. A friend of mine has a exenco chipper for sale, hes had it for years, hes now got a gandini shredder, im aware they are heavy buggers .. asuming it runes etc (we will find out tommorow) how much is it worth...?? thanks:thumbup1:

    sthil ms261

Great saw providing you change the needle bearing , i run mine with a 16" as in picture, cut 6 tonne of oak today with it, bags of grunt!!
  18. Hi mate, ive got and use a 261 love it!! only thing that you need to do is replace the needle bearing for a higher grade part, (ive done mine under warranty). engine wise etc its absoutly spot on. bags of power, very good on juice compared to the 346xp and well balanced. i should also say the AV's are awsome, so are the emissions due to the new exhaust. 261 also has some new good features, new air filter, captive nuts ..... 346xp is a good saw, it screams, the noise to me gets a bit loud and annoying but thats probably the stihl man in me . both good saws, cutting wise not much between them, chainbrake is bigger on the 346 so is throttle.. personal choice really..
  19. i would keep practising bud!!! get those cuts perfect then when your next assessment is due you will be far more confident, good luck next time !!
  20. thanks mate, will do the mods cant wait untill i get a big job to warrant £909.00 on a saw:001_huh: got a few big jobs in pipeline so should own the beast soon:thumbup: thanks again lads.
  21. yes have to agree very pleased with service/ prices etc from jonsie!!

  23. :thumbup1:201t
  24. you will have to get a 201 t now, i think they have stopped selling 200t's,!!
  25. ms 261. sweets saw with bags of grunt, ( just get the needle bearing upgarde) then its just about perfect,
