  4. it felt well balanced for its weight, just looked sooo good next to the 460 and 441, will save up and get a 660 !! sorted, thanks guys

  7. well i didnt notce it untill i wipped the bar and chain off, then release the chain brake and see if the clutch drum wobbles a bit..... then to get to the prob i removed the circlip , drive sprocket etc... to find a little plastic bearing. let us know how you get on mate..:vroam:

  9. minor detail mate, like i said just wanted to see if other people have had the same problem? never ever said stihls were perfect, just my personal choice, they all go wrong but its how easy they are to fix that matters, and stihl win on that front!!!!
  10. will keep my stihls mate, just a minor detail, just seing if anyone else had a bearing go.?? wouldnt swap the 261 for all the 346's in devon!!!! get a new bearing and she will be sweet:thumbup:

My ms261 has been amazing so far, (7months old now) Ive had to put a new plug in it, now ive just had it on the bench took chain brake assembly off and there seems to be play in the sprocket, so i whipped the bar and chain off, took circlip & drive sprocket out, removed the clutch drum to find a plastic bearing, the bearing had wear on one end and the bearings arnt rotating, im guessing i need a new bearing?? really didnt expect to find a plastic bearing, apart from this and the plug its been a cracking saw and has taking a beasting any help would be much appreciated.!! thanks

  14. Nothing wrong with being honest mate, ive found that being honest has helped me to get a good reputation and i guess word of mouth travels fast. id rather be a few quid down and be honest rather that have a jammed back pocket and feel guilty all day every day, happy climbing!!
  15. I climb with 45m marlow aries and a 5m marlow split tail. on prussiks, not everyones choice but its easy and works for me !!

  18. hello all, looking for some extra days to help fill up the diary!, tickets include, cs30,cs31,cs38 + cs39. ive got a clean licence, saws & PPE, and my own little van + trailer. also got a 24 tonne towable splitter, loads of ground experience, 6 or so years been climbing for approx 1 year. fully insured 5mill public liability. willing to travel ( within reason ). currently subcontract to 4 different tree surgeons but want to expand ! cv available and references.   19. true!!, 261 sound sooo much sweeter, just feels well balanced and has bags of grunt, in comparrison 346 has a massive chain brake handle, a horrible choke lever which feels like its going to break and a gammy fuel primer ( because they drink so much ) will keep my 261 thanks!!
  20. Thanks Burrell, thats helped me out, get the idea i should save up for a 660 that way i can pull a bigger bar & chain if i need, its not going to be used much, however getting a bit hacked of with the 16" bar on the 261 , thanks for your help mate!!!!:thumbup:

    Yes, he will want to suss you out, ask you a few basic safety questions etc, make sure gun cabinet is bolted to the wall correctly, it may be worth while getting a seperate cabinet for cartidges/bullets, if its firearms your applying for then you will need written consent from atleast two land owners with what quarry you will be shooting ( rabbits, foxes deer etc ) if your going for deer you will ned a minuimum calibre of .243 they also like a seperate alarm in the gun room!! £50 . 00 for 5 years get your ticket then happy shooting!! all the best.
  23. yeh, i loved the 460, just want the option to run a 30" maybe a 36" so thats edging me closer to the 660.!!
  24. Nothing wrong with the 261 mate , absolutly rinses the 346 xp, all day long, a mate of mine had a 346 same time as i got my 261 he wished he went for the 261 now, ,
