You want a great kit bag, checkout what the Aussie army use. My brother got onto a tailor while he was on a deployment. This bloke can make anything! rope bags, kit bags and they last!! Just email him and he can send you pics, info, etc. [email protected] He'll stich a name on the bag along with a flag of your choice, all for around $100 aussie dollars. <p>Hey Matty, hope you guys are both well and have had great start to the new year. Just watched your crane vid and **** does it look cold over there!! we've just a run of 33 degree days! I just picked up a cruiser with a 3m bin on the back. I'II send you a pic or two. Still with Pete and its going good (bar the travel) the extension starts next week and the backyard looks like a paddock. Have you made it back over to the UK to see you mum? The finn harness is the go. I got a couple for my little blokes last year when they were 6 and 3, and they're not the biggest kids. I reckon that they will last at least till they are 10. The adjustment is great throughout all the leg loops and waist. You will get heaps of use out of them.

i tried just a little bit of euc oil put it were the fabric softener goes in the machine . Only a few drops and it took out all the cypress sap no worries. Smells good too. Put it the rope in one of those weaver rope wash bags, thanks treestuff.

The boss got a couple of Harkie jackets for the boys to try out. The only time he has worn it was when we went to the snow for the day. Great look snowboarding.He reckoned it was awesome. Im pretty sure everyone on the mountain thought that he was someones 'special' cousin. I wear a helly hansen heletech jacket. Its a great jacket, its got me through many a wet day.

How much stretch is in the escalator Drew? would it be to bouncy just for SRT access using a micro frog system?

would love any input about what you guys reckon would be the best access line for srt and foot-locking. I'm not intending using it for single line canopy work. 10mm Im thinking. Thanks

I run 10mm op and have also used 10mm ap. the advantage of the cinch is when you shift your lanyard to your bridge and choke it off using your thimble. The ease when it comes to small adjustments is great. It's light weight and a top bit of kit.

Always seems like a good idea @ the time to try and splice up some not so old rope, but your hands always seem to pay the price!!

Just a quinck one, I was wondering if anyone had any tricks or tips on the best way to get new rubber onto a bigshot head? Ive got a couple of old heads and the old rubber was rubbish. I want to reinstate them as they have the old pouches (I reckon they're much better). It would be a big help. Thanks

Harrison rockets for day to day for me. Got a highball in my big shot kit, it came in super handy on a job where we had to set a lot of access lines in tall pines. Never got stuck and launched like a demon out of the big shot. A bit of fun anyway.....

Like any bit of new gear have a good muck around with it , sort out what's purpose it will play in your overall setup. straight out of the package and up the tree, maybe not the go. A full understanding of your gear is all apart of a complete climbing arborist. -
Vertex vent. You can't beat em! I've had a kask,alveo and vertex. One of the boys @ work his Alveo split where the earmuff slots in, and another lad's foam on the inside has fallen to bits in only a couple of months.

I normally girth hitch the tail of the end of the prussik instead having a spacer there. I've tried 8,7 and 6 mm cord. I will post some pics in the next little bit. Like Matty and Dan said use common sense, but its worth having a bash on for sure loads of fun if ya wanna let it run!! The way I look at the hitch with it doubled up, if there is twice as much its a good thing. 6x2 more cord than 10mm yeah?!

I found SIP's to be a bit heavy, got onto Stihl advance A trousers. Super light, they go great in an Aussie summer. Got a pair of Pfanners for winter. Nice and warm!!

I've been using piano wire for a while now. Swing past piano repair shop and for a few bucks they will swing you some decent off-cuts that are lying around. Its super strong, much better than mig wire and not as bulky as a coat hanger. I've tried them all, including a Toss wand. treestuff sell an ABR fid online as well.

use the end of chainsaw file as a marlin spike. you can grab the basics from most sailing shops. Palm needle pusher, whipping twine, needles. Also set yourself up with some pliers, scissors and a lighter. That should get you started on you splicing kit. It all depends how serious you want to get, but check out Arbshops online for the spicing gear.

I heard that Arbpro are also going to be releasing an updated version of their rigging winch\bollard.

hose pipe is the go Ewan! you can even tie a short bit of throw line between them so they stay together. don't listen to Danomatic.
