  1. It's not the race or gender so much as the 70's, Marxist drivel that irritates me.... 💩
  2. Takes years of languishing in dead man's shoes to master! 😃
  3. Trust! That's a good one!! The more rural you go, the more like bandit country it becomes.... The pick-up I saw yesterday (so wish I got a picture!) was highly likely to be over it's laden weight just with the amount of mud that was caked on it from top to bottom. So much so that it was impossible to tell what make / model it was. Never seen the like of it... Trust..... Yeah, that's a good one....
  4. Resurfacing the minor road in Polperro at the moment. Like many Cornish fishing villages, usually really quiet this time of year with all the Summer trade & holiday homes vacated. Never seen the place so busy! There are more men and heavy equipment in one place than you could ever imagine! It's truly staggering!! Literally dozens of them, mostly on the mobile or sat in the vans. They have enough kit and muscle to instal a motorway and they are doing about 300m of minor, single carriageway per day! Geddon Cormac!
  5. Well take yourself into a quiet corner of yr welfare van and dry your eyes... Hopefully it won't upset your ability to do nothing on your next shift. Frankly, most of what you've gloated about I find sickening and I'm sure the long suffering fair paying public that incur annual fair rises and Internationally renowned PPoor service from the rail networks would be similarly appalled by the insight you have provided into the uncontrolled operating costs which must be a significant factor in the annual fair rises.
  6. The situation is an anathema, to apparently be proudly justifying it...... Beggars belief! It's enough to make me want to welcome decent, hard working Eastern European immigrant workers.......
  7. 👍 neighbours often have "issues" with each other that only actually exist in their own minds and are easily overcome by the timely intervention of a polite, patient and understanding 3rd party. If it leads to additional business, all the better! And if all else fails, and there really is an impasse, there's always the Access to Neighbouring Land Act
  8. Understand what you're saying Mull, it's just that I don't see it in the same way.... 👀
  9. I'm convinced vehicle speedos are inaccurately calibrated as a matter of course. I've got GPS on dashcam which reads 70 when vehicle speedo reads 79.
  10. Now there's a man with an appropriate sense of humour AND a keen grasp of sustainable energy production! 👍😂👍
  11. Mick, rather a Rozzer than a VATMan!! But neither out of preference!! Paul, good point about standing idle. I had to google what IIRC means! Bit embarrassed! Seen if quite often but never knew!!!
  12. Annual after the 3rd year from new. Apart from the management of regulating it, I can't see how tying the test to a timeframe rather than a mileage can be anything other than illogical.
  13. Could be spun as a "good news" story.....? Oh, come on...... You got to have a sense of humour!
  14. Insurers.... Bunch of thieves! They'll take your money then bend you over as soon as you need them to do what you paid them for!
  15. An opportunity to contribute thoughts to the consultation process.... "...Boost for motorists as government proposes no MOT test for first 4 years..." https://www.gov.uk/government/news/boost-for-motorists-as-government-proposes-no-mot-test-for-first-4-years Maybe a first MoT test should be set by mileage rather than years? A vehicle that has done high mileage for 4 years is more likely to benefit from a test than a 4 year old low mileage vehicle... Just a first thought on initial reading. Lucky there are "expert" civil servants looking at the issue.... They'll probably wait and see what the public suggest, then pay a bundle to a consultant to tell them how to do their job, then takes ages to actually make a decision and deliver it, then discover they've got it completely wrong, then go to the palace for a CBE!
  16. No, I don't think so... but it is, nonetheless, a valid and relevant point. The landowner can do as they please (despite perceived best advice) and nobody (hopefully) is compelled to take a task they are uncomfortable with. FWIW, I have no probs walking away from a task / customer I don't feel comfortable with.
  17. There's the harsh reality! Try if you can, but ultimately....
  18. 🐵🙈🙉🙊 'King monkeys, the lot of 'em!
  19. Better than the alternative: Arboricultural & Recycling (for) Sensitive Environmental Working Independent Professional Executives.... (Howling!)
