  1. No need to worry about that apparently, the NFU have decided population decline pre-dated neonic use so it can't be that.... 😳 http://www.nfuonline.com/cross-sector/environment/bees-and-pollinators/bees-and-pollinators-news/bees-and-neonicotinoids-whats-it-all-about/
  2. Link here: http://woodworkingcrazy.net/index.php/2016/12/26/the-art-of-log-hive-making/ For a log hive (not the 2 plonkers!!)
  3. Set up by David up Norf, it's been a bit quiet of late but with a few more users / owners coming on line it could get busier!
  4. 7.3S - weights / dims not vastly greater than the lower models but lift capacity / hyd flow is greater. There is a "multione uk" users group on FB (not many members but quite a good reference point). Road reg is a job for early next year! Maybe we could convince the guys @ Ranger equip to look into it as a positive sales angle?
  5. Dean, have you road reg'd yours? Just reading the tractor insurance thread got me thinking....!
  6. What a paradox! We were (and are every time) exactly the same. The relief of having the house back to ourselves is heavily tinged by the sadness of knowing how much the little one loves having her grandparents to stay, and how 'empty' the place will feel with them gone. I shan't miss having to put the radiators on though.... I do give in if there are over 60's in the house and allow the central heating to be used...
  7. Timberwolf announced the winner of 2016 ?Win a Chipper? | Timberwolf Not one of your clan by any chance Gary??
  8. Not this time Mr E, still got a load in the freezer! I break em out in emergencies for bacon roll ups!
  9. Get hold of Multione UK via the sponsor link on here (or google it) or 01246 540972 They'll set you up with a demo on a new machine - you'll soon see the difference! I'm quite happy with plastic body panels. Plastic, steel, ally, titanium... they'll all scratch / bend if the machine is being driven by a careless knuckle dragger, don't ding it, plastic doesn't rust!
  10. I feel ya! I have the opposite problem, they're just so bloody "nice!" 5 days without being able to walk around naked, fart, burp and scratch yr ass.... (and that's just the Mrs!)
  11. Any one else have the 'pleasure' of in-laws for Christmas? Possibly one of the funniest things I saw was the mother-in-law having a mobile phone drama... To set the scene, after 5 days of the rigours of having house guests, on the day of departure the car developed a brake fault. Easy fix, sticky brake calliper rectified by the AA. Trying to find us, the AA called FiL's mobile, he's outside, MiL saw it ringing.... She thinks when it stops ringing that's the line connected so she picks it up, waits for ring tone to stop, then starts talking.... Then she starts ranting about there not being anyone there.... Goes to land line to phone BiL. Whilst on the phone to BiL, FiL's mobile goes off again in the kitchen so she rushes through, waits for the ringing to stop, then starts talking..... Nobody there, starts ranting, goes back to landline to speak to BiL who's now hung up... This process was repeated FOUR times! I'm in the office fair struggling to retain control..... After the 4th series I shouted the Mrs down to sort her out.... It could so easily have been a Monty Python / Laurel & Hardy / Blackadder & Prince Regent sketch! Small pleasures...... FiL bought her a new mobile for a Christmas present, can't see that getting too much use!
  12. Yes, best to keep in mind, if it's the video I'm thinking of, it will have been made by people trying to sell mini-articulated loaders over skid steers! Maybe not entirely unbiased!!
  13. There is a youtube vid (German I think) which perfectly demonstrates this tip hazard.... They have pulled out a tree, then manoeuvring with too much speed and elevated load, over she goes! For the life of me, I can't find it!!
  14. This raises the critical point ^ The key to YOUR successful choice, ultimately, will be suiting the right machine to YOUR needs. They're all good, if used in the right environment. Good luck. I too thought plastic panels might have been a weakness, and I suspect on a plant hire machine used by gorillas it might (although panel replacement would be added to hire charge if damaged!). If you get your own machine and treat it with due respect, plastic should outlast steel?!?
  15. Norcar did it..... But it seems like a pointless exercise to me, if you need tracks, the right tool for the job is a tracked machine. Saw it demo'd and asked the questions about time & effort to change from wheels to tracks & back again.... Didn't work for me since I didn't want tracks! If yome in the bog all day, get a tracked machine. If you're on grass, in gardens, landscaped areas get wheels.... Which area are you in Oxford? I was born in Abingdon and grew up in Appleton.
  16. There is loads of info in previous threads (search mini loader, avant, multione, skid steer etc) Whilst you've got the "loaner", have a think about tyre pattern - where will you most use the machine mud, lawn, hard surface. Has the loaner got back weights fitted - this may give a false impression of lift capacity if you get one with out. How are you transporting? Trailer tail ramp may need to be 6' rather than 4' due to approach angle. How far is the dealership from your main operating base? Single most important piece of advice - Contact MultiOne for a demo before committing to anything! MultiOne will outperform Avant across the entire range.
  17. Thanks all! All understood and makes sense with what I've looked at / read so far....
  18. Has anyone had any experience with satellite broadband where fibre is not available? Having a look at the options, it appears that some funding may be available subject to T&Cs and just wondered if anyone in the rural areas had considered it or experienced it? Better Broadband - Superfast fibre optic broadband - Superfast Cornwall Any plusses or minuses and any recommends for service providers appreciated.
  19. Light blue touch paper, retire to a safe distance - 🌪 💥 🚀
  20. I can't get wrapped around the axle on it Ed, 42-43 days don't make a busting lot of difference in the grand scheme of things. What I see is a PP submission transferring to an LA planning page with a decision date (and I use the LA terminology - not mine, but it is still a decision on the part of the LA - the decision is "not to oppose" or "oppose" by means of a TPO - 42 days (inclusive of submission date) - that's good enough for me. Day 43 and beyond, it's open season. You have suggested the clock starts the day after submission, which is not what it says in the TCA nor is it what I see happening. If you can find a post where I've ever proposed that a 211 needs to be approved I'll buy you a bottle of vino!
  21. If regular, I'd be inclined to prepare a letter format and start despatching appeal letters on day 57. Sure, the determination would probably appear before the appeal hearing but PINS would soon get hacked off with having to register valid appeals and you'd hope the necessary "attention" would be brought to bear on the relevant department. Civil service is good for that kind of thing!
  22. Now that is appealing to my sense of humour....
  23. Good thread! I was half way through a Holm Oak dismantle for a mucker a few months back and casually asked "you have done TPO and CA checks haven't you.....?" The blank look spoke volumes!
