  1. Have you cleverly changed something that I can't be bothered to look for or did you forget to write what you were thinking..... ? It's possible I'm not writing what you're reading after a couple too many.....?
  2. "If" it's out of order, let them tell you why. "If" it isn't they won't be able to. "If" you (pay) apply for consent they may or may not approve - but they'll have your money. "If' it is "allowed" they'll still have your money. "If" it is isn't allowed you may have to take it down, but that won't happen for quite some time and you won't have paid for the privilege. Without providing any advice that may or may not choose to act upon, if it were me, I'd leave the letter in the "maybe I'll get back to that after I've tidied the cutlery draw" file....
  3. For all the part messages I'd typed for Mark, before getting to the end of the thread, I can happily delete them all.... except this bit: At what point does ridiculois become obvious Mark? (Not in chronological order) Russia passes law to facilitate execution of overseas dissidents. Russian dissident is assassinated with Russian sourced isotope. Numerous other Russian dissidents "meet unexpected end." UK scientists identify source of chemical agent. OPCW confirms UK identification of chemical agent. Russia takes responsibility for clearing chemical weapons from Syria. Syria suffers repeated chemical weapons incidents. Russia denies Syrian chemical attack ever happened. 24 hrs later, Russia claims "West" responsible for Syrian chemical weapons attack. Jeremy Corbyn is a clown and Dianne Abbot can't tell the time. and you know how much it pains us both to agree with each other Dave... But I have to say, I simply cannot find anything to disagree with you on this.
  4. Do nothing! Wait and see if LA are bold enough to take it through enforcement route. If not, don’t do anything! Matey would have said it’s OK just so he could get away without any hassles....
  5. Ah, understood! I thought you were suggesting the ABSCENCE of previous UK military action (resulting in current situation) placed an obligation upon us to accept displaced peoples. Eventhiugh I now understand more clearly, I’m afraid I still stand by the previous statement about displaced peoples - how they are displaced is rather a side issue. I might (only might) concede that there could be a moral obligation for post conflict transition, stabilisation and remediation however. That’s as good as you’ll get from me on that subject. Not entirely sure I subscribe to the apparent euphoric Pro Russian sentiment as appears to have appeared in relation to the “defeat” of IS in Syria. Im minded of that old Arab saying “the quickest way to make an enemy is to do a friend a favour” (or something like that...) We’ve yet to fully appreciate Russia’s motive for creating influence in Syria. Not so much Iran, that’s a bit more obvious....
  6. Hypocracy for what? Not taking direct kinetic military action sooner? Confused! parliamentary approval, or otherwise, is irrelevant in my reckoning. The solution will not be found in military intervention. Russia and Iran , for fucking meddling, before the mighty Israel laces the gloves up and starts issuing some serious spanking.
  7. Starting from the bottom and working up Mark... Displaced people should be provided temporary safe haven as close as is reasonably practical to the origin of the displacement so as to facilitate a speedy and efficient reabsorption to place of displacement on completion of hostilities. Military action NOW, makes a mockery of the absence of it for the preceding years - which I happen to agree with. Serious Economic and diplomatic action would be, IMHO, a better option all round.
  8. Tell him you're manufacturing gates in your shed and ask if he wants a set??
  9. Just picked this from British Gas page. Never mind BitCoin, buy stock in Norwegian Gas!!!
  10. No time for that Mr E! Too busy with trivia and nonsense!
  11. That's a tricky one to unpick.... "The war in Syria is nearly over" - possibly, in the conventional land sense - the people on the ground are beaten into submission. But the 'regional / global' implications are only just starting to come into the reality game. Iran & Russia influence to destabilise Israel and the West more broadly. That's the real game play. "Why would Assad risk America getting involved by using chemical weapons" - that's a unfathomable.... It can't be Assad, it makes no sense, is it Russia saying FU, we'll do what we want where we want, when we want? "Are chemical weapons really worse than conventional weapons?" - dead is dead. How you get there is the only difference. There is a natural and healthy human revulsion to the concept of indiscriminate WMD - thank God. "In Syria we've got two choices. We either support Assad who is not as bad as people are making out. Or we support the opposition in Syria who are hardcore nutters that chop the heads off people." Agreed. It was right, politically, not to engage after the FU's of recent history - the people would not (parliament did not) support it. There has to be an alternative method. But, in the meantime, it's no use crying over the consequences of not being there when we see the implications of that. I'm not sure we did make a mess in Iraq. It's better now than it was under SH for many more people. I stay in regular touch with the D Mayor of Basra, yes it's corrupt, yes it's tribal, yes it's nepotism, yes it's self before anything else.... It's the M East, what do people expect? Interesting times...
  12. Is it wrong that the part of your well presented post that made the biggest impression on me was the judicial use of “(“ (that says more about me than anything else ?) I’m not sure we’re quite at Cuban missile crisis stage, but things is getting a bit tense.
  13. Right F it! I'm decided, the outstanding reports and shitty jobs I've been putting off despite getting close / past deadline can all go in the "maybe next week" file, I'm off on a massive bender!
  14. Sorry Gary, I should have deleted the first para and left only the last. That was the part where the smiley face was applied to not the other....
  15. Nice one Mr Eggs!! I'll get my Homer Simpson trousers on and hoist the gin pennant!! ???????
  16. You've lost the plot on this one Vesp. Cut some slack for the family that never stopped to wonder why he was going out late at night in a black & white stripy shirt, a face mask and a bag marked 'swag', and comes back in the morning with a bundle of loot....? No mate, F*ck 'em. Sympathy can be found between sh*t and syphilis in the dictionary but you ain't gonna find any here... PS - I didn't know the family background until I heard ir on here and the wife told me. It's irrelevant, if he was the son of vicar I'd hold the same view.
  17. Someone wants to place flowers at the scene, where an armed burglary went wrong resulting in the death of the blagger and it happens to be the house of the person being robbed..... Yeah, I'd have no problem with that...... So long as the people laying the flowers had no problem with the victim of the burglary taking a massive ????in their front room.
  18. He’s in your heart Mr E.... You just might not have realised it yet...???
  19. Has anybody / would anybody apply and show more than a single Table 1 category to different parts of the same individual tree? 4.5.3 For a tree to qualify under any given category, 4.5.4 The tree survey schedule should list which subcategory applies. 4.5.5 When determining the appropriate category All seem to indicate "singular" tree and "singular" category. I'm looking at a fairly common scenario for hereabouts where former agricultural field boundary has over mature (potentially veteran-ish) stool (Ash), which has extensive 'features' (may also be known as defects but not entirely appropriate) with semi-mature regrowth (which would at some point, no doubt, be lopped off by the farmer) but has been allowed to grow on (with some considerable, potentially unsustainable lateral growth.) Retaining the stool, which has obvious long history, but not the existing semi-mature regrowth which will grow on and fail, seems to be the obvious solution. If the plot does convert from Ag to residential, the retention of the regrowth (and future growth) will be an obvious liability in a domestic setting. So the question is.... Is it realistic / reasonable to allocate a C1 (impaired condition) or 2 (temporary landscape benefit) on the regrowth and a A3 (conservation / historical) on the stool? Any thoughts / comments appreciated....
  20. I do agree Mr E - up to a point...... But mindful of the shocking examples of Union bosses on fat cat 6 figure salaries, chauffeur driven limo's, long lunches etc whilst stubbornly claiming the universal rights of the 'working man' to be domiciled in social housing (thus depriving the genuinely needy of a state funded facility) I have never been able to subscribe.... Perhaps there's something in the grabby, self serving, shouty Marxist tendencies and the outrageous hypocrisy of demanding "equality for all" whilst feathering one's own nest that sticks in my craw... The Tax Payers Alliance is my "Union!" From Hawthorn to Bob Crow..... How does that happen.....?????
  21. We’ve all got our crosses to bear Mr E! ??
  22. "Leaf" them on til the chance of last frost has passed (who'd have thought we'd be saying that mid April?) then bash it Beau!
  23. Hungarian election will be an interesting look tomorrow....
