  1. No time for that Mr E! Too busy with trivia and nonsense!
  2. That's a tricky one to unpick.... "The war in Syria is nearly over" - possibly, in the conventional land sense - the people on the ground are beaten into submission. But the 'regional / global' implications are only just starting to come into the reality game. Iran & Russia influence to destabilise Israel and the West more broadly. That's the real game play. "Why would Assad risk America getting involved by using chemical weapons" - that's a unfathomable.... It can't be Assad, it makes no sense, is it Russia saying FU, we'll do what we want where we want, when we want? "Are chemical weapons really worse than conventional weapons?" - dead is dead. How you get there is the only difference. There is a natural and healthy human revulsion to the concept of indiscriminate WMD - thank God. "In Syria we've got two choices. We either support Assad who is not as bad as people are making out. Or we support the opposition in Syria who are hardcore nutters that chop the heads off people." Agreed. It was right, politically, not to engage after the FU's of recent history - the people would not (parliament did not) support it. There has to be an alternative method. But, in the meantime, it's no use crying over the consequences of not being there when we see the implications of that. I'm not sure we did make a mess in Iraq. It's better now than it was under SH for many more people. I stay in regular touch with the D Mayor of Basra, yes it's corrupt, yes it's tribal, yes it's nepotism, yes it's self before anything else.... It's the M East, what do people expect? Interesting times...
  3. Is it wrong that the part of your well presented post that made the biggest impression on me was the judicial use of “(“ (that says more about me than anything else ?) I’m not sure we’re quite at Cuban missile crisis stage, but things is getting a bit tense.
  4. Right F it! I'm decided, the outstanding reports and shitty jobs I've been putting off despite getting close / past deadline can all go in the "maybe next week" file, I'm off on a massive bender!
  5. Sorry Gary, I should have deleted the first para and left only the last. That was the part where the smiley face was applied to not the other....
  6. Nice one Mr Eggs!! I'll get my Homer Simpson trousers on and hoist the gin pennant!! ???????
  7. You've lost the plot on this one Vesp. Cut some slack for the family that never stopped to wonder why he was going out late at night in a black & white stripy shirt, a face mask and a bag marked 'swag', and comes back in the morning with a bundle of loot....? No mate, F*ck 'em. Sympathy can be found between sh*t and syphilis in the dictionary but you ain't gonna find any here... PS - I didn't know the family background until I heard ir on here and the wife told me. It's irrelevant, if he was the son of vicar I'd hold the same view.
  8. Someone wants to place flowers at the scene, where an armed burglary went wrong resulting in the death of the blagger and it happens to be the house of the person being robbed..... Yeah, I'd have no problem with that...... So long as the people laying the flowers had no problem with the victim of the burglary taking a massive ????in their front room.
  9. He’s in your heart Mr E.... You just might not have realised it yet...???
  10. Has anybody / would anybody apply and show more than a single Table 1 category to different parts of the same individual tree? 4.5.3 For a tree to qualify under any given category, 4.5.4 The tree survey schedule should list which subcategory applies. 4.5.5 When determining the appropriate category All seem to indicate "singular" tree and "singular" category. I'm looking at a fairly common scenario for hereabouts where former agricultural field boundary has over mature (potentially veteran-ish) stool (Ash), which has extensive 'features' (may also be known as defects but not entirely appropriate) with semi-mature regrowth (which would at some point, no doubt, be lopped off by the farmer) but has been allowed to grow on (with some considerable, potentially unsustainable lateral growth.) Retaining the stool, which has obvious long history, but not the existing semi-mature regrowth which will grow on and fail, seems to be the obvious solution. If the plot does convert from Ag to residential, the retention of the regrowth (and future growth) will be an obvious liability in a domestic setting. So the question is.... Is it realistic / reasonable to allocate a C1 (impaired condition) or 2 (temporary landscape benefit) on the regrowth and a A3 (conservation / historical) on the stool? Any thoughts / comments appreciated....
  11. I do agree Mr E - up to a point...... But mindful of the shocking examples of Union bosses on fat cat 6 figure salaries, chauffeur driven limo's, long lunches etc whilst stubbornly claiming the universal rights of the 'working man' to be domiciled in social housing (thus depriving the genuinely needy of a state funded facility) I have never been able to subscribe.... Perhaps there's something in the grabby, self serving, shouty Marxist tendencies and the outrageous hypocrisy of demanding "equality for all" whilst feathering one's own nest that sticks in my craw... The Tax Payers Alliance is my "Union!" From Hawthorn to Bob Crow..... How does that happen.....?????
  12. We’ve all got our crosses to bear Mr E! ??
  13. "Leaf" them on til the chance of last frost has passed (who'd have thought we'd be saying that mid April?) then bash it Beau!
  14. Hungarian election will be an interesting look tomorrow....
  15. He cracks on that he makes some tidy money from it, ranks in the regional, national & international tournaments apparently (I’m not sure how much of that is BS - but I guess that’s a good characteristic in a poker player?) I’m not for gambling myself, too tight wad. There was an interesting case I remember where a poker player bent HMRC over and gave them a spank which pleased me! They claimed it was declarable income and he said it was hobby (I’ll have to look it up now... can’t quite remember if it was HMRC or a bitchy ex wife CSA scenario...)
  16. That is pants! A pointless exercise!! You’d only be insured for the periods you probably least need it? Might as well spend the money on something useful like beer & kebabs! The insurers are hedging their bet so far as to make their service meaningless. Who is it so we can all body swerve ‘em?
  17. Nuc it, 3 years later you’ll wish you’d sent in ground troops as a follow up!
  18. Long shot... Do you know Scott Betteridge? Tall, freaky looking fucker from Pensilva, well into his online & tournament poker? Makes a fair turn of it by all accounts.
  19. Is Hawthorn a middle class tree Khriss? Do trees abide by social constructs....? Or are they just "happy" to be in Kernow??
  20. Ummmm.... Slightly embarrassed now.....
  21. Bonnie Soonbescarff Mead (assuming it is a female) is clearly retarded in the domestic duties department.... Simple rules of gravity would dictate that the water would drain downwards away from the waistband in example A, thus allowing more efficient evaporation drying at the waistband than would be the case in B where water would be continuing to saturate the area which is known to be the slowest to dry obviously resulting in the legs drying much quicker than the waistband which would require longer on the line taking up valuable space where other washing could be hung out..... Get a grip Bonnie, you're a disgrace to your gender and will likely see out your miserable life as a crinkled, dry and bitter spinster....
  22. The part I haven't quite got to grips with yet (but it doesn't matter because I'm not going to do it anyway) is whether it is necessary to register (and pay the registration fee.) "...The Government has announced a new charging structure for data controllers to ensure the continued funding of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)..." https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/accountability-and-governance/guide-to-the-data-protection-fee/ So, what that means is, you have to register, pay a fee to pay for the process of registration... If I've ever heard of a bigger scam? Pay a fee to maintain the cost of a QUANGO that needs to check if you've paid a fee? Give me strength! I've done a privacy policy statement for the webpage and an audit of data storage, that's about as much as I'm going to do... The massive majority of people I've spoken to are giving it a DGI!
