You’ll get the house and a slack handful of enough change for a steak dinner if you buy in Berslam! 😂

And yet she ends up being widely vilified - for, errr, stating the blindingly obvious... Thats some f*caked up world we’ve created for ourselves.

How much has signing up to Woodsure cost you?
kevinjohnsonmbe replied to Woodworks's topic in Firewood forum
It'll be like the current BSL accreditation required to sell log / pellet to RHI claiming customers. Quarterly fee £7.50 I think, and then you pay a % for every ton. You sell. Quarterly return requires tonnage sales and auto calculates a price you have to pay for the privilege of selling your own product. Im binning BSL accreditation off. Not worth it. -
Ah, I miss understood that.... I thought you meant the question was suss - like something Trigger from Only Fools & Horses. In hindsight, I think you might be seeking a response from Andy. Ask Saudi to extract more so price goes down..... It don’t take too much thinking about really eh? Work harder, get paid less - where do I sign 😂

Bercow’s due on LBC in a minute or two with Ian Dale. Will be interesting to hear what he has to say fir himself. I suspect he will claim a stitch up from the civil service that hold all the trump cards when someone recognises / challenges / attempts to rectify incompetence and that he is the victim.

Missed this eG5err... Have this (back) for context.... For all the gum smacking faux outrage and indignant pouting.... Yome pissing up the wind, pulling a hairy shirt on and getting wrapped around the axle about numbers and processes which completely misses the point which appears common in many ‘refugee’ scenarios. The ‘solution’ to safe haven for millions of displaced people will NEVER be in 10s, 100s, 1000s of refugee applications. It is futile posture politics. The ‘solution’, especially in this case where it ‘seems’ the majority will actually want to return to their country of origin, is in temporary bulk / expeditionary accommodation as close as practically / safely possible to the country of origin. 50, 500, 5000 - piss & wind / smoke & mirrors. Good to see a nation with the kahunas to send the women and kids out and require the men to stay and effect a defence - a notable change from recent example.

You do it all the time - and I’d wager (pun intended😂) you’re very good at it to boot! Its just a case of considering the circumstances and presenting a best guess based upon observation and accrued knowledge. Not notably different to tree risk assessments. I totally accept your point about wanting ‘out’ from an inappropriate, seemingly inept, perceived as corrupt, unrepresentative, aloof and inherently flawed financial, economic and social construct (Westminster), but using this as a pseudo justification for Scottish independence throws up the blatantly obvious lie which is attached to that rationale because, in tandem with the ‘independence’ of casting off the Westminster yoke, you seem to be advocating the immediate buckling on of the EU yoke which not only replicates the majority of Westminster’s failings it actually amplifies them by 26 (is it 26 now?) And so, herein lies the flaw and exposes the reality behind Scottish independence. It is more about disgusting, deep rooted, anti- English, nationalist sentiment than anything else. Many in England know this ‘uncomfortable truth’ and are simply so tired of the shite and lies that they’d happily support independence.

All good advice above. Practically - knowledge, (good) experience and absorbing the delivered sections of theory are critical (the information you will be provided is what is required for the exam - this is not (necessarily) the time / place for in-depth challenge or opinion.) Time management is key for practical assessment! Make yourself a proforma which captures all the survey information on a single sheet which you can easily complete so that you are led through your ‘inputs’, don’t miss anything and ensure you cover all the bases. Get this proforma typed / drawn up in advance - finalise it the night before the practical assessment when you have been told all the necessary elements of assessment. Get a waterproof survey folder and use pencil (which isn’t affected by rain) rather than pen (which is.) Get stuck in!

50/50 Mr C. Kit, demeanour, deportment - all screams “Walt” and if he is passing himself off as something he isn’t, then he, and possibly others, may get a harsh dose of reality. That’s ‘probably’ going to be enough of a life lesson. Id have to watch it again (not going to happen) but I don’t think he actually claimed to be ex military but rather it was in the headline. If he’s just a plucky have a go hero - good luck to him. Trouble is it ‘appears’ that he may be attempting to pass himself off as something he may not be. Like you say though - if a granny can down a drone with a jar of pickles he may have something to offer - just so long as nobody has to go in and rescue the daft bastard.

What would be your odds and timeframe predictions then Jules? Its all very well saying you’d advocate for it - when do you see it coming down to dates?

The “Walters” are on the march:

I’m only teasing when I make mention of the Cornish Liberation Army. Yes, they do exist in the form of Mebyn Kernow, but it really is a joke. Well, in part it is a joke until you start to analyse the overt nationalist / racist tendencies which fly in the face of all that is represented by modern equality and diversity laws. I would vote for Scottish independence - I wouldn’t vote for Cornish independence. Would you believe - granite gate posts are cheaper to import from China than to buy locally....
-
One sure fire way to guarantee an overwhelming majority at the next (once in a generation) referendum for Scottish independence would be to open the vote to all residents of the UK. I’d vote for it in a flash. I suspect the phrase “...careful what you wish for...” runs deep (and silent) throughout the corridors of SNP power.

All of the news reports I’ve heard have been very careful to state “UK accepts 50 applications” They have all been equally careful to not actually state how many applications have been received..... The number 50, in isolation, is completely meaningless without context. If only 50 have applied what are you gonna do? (I acknowledge there are some administrative barriers and that some of them may be considered as excessive - but we still don’t know how many have sought or want an application for UK)

The gaping credibility void in the Scottish independence debate was the inability to make the books balance. Id like to say this ‘should’ trouble the EU but they have a recorded history of intentionally emasculating basket case national economies in the German quest for European dominance. That Scotland’s (independent) economy would be a basket case - this should debar Scotland from being even remotely eligible, and that’s putting aside the fact they don’t have, nor was there any plan for a ‘currency’ except that it might be the case that the EU would ignore all of that and still provide some distant aspiration of Scottish EU membership - it would be EU MO after all. Now it might be that energy independence might an a new dimension to the argument. Scotland joining EU after independence - I’d put that at 5-10 years after independence and independence from UK is 5-10 years away from now.... Scotland independently within the EU I’d give that 50/50 odds - 10 years away (at best) 15 more likely, possibly 20, just as likey not at all.

Any excuse to recall this most excellent parody! And whilst also acknowledging the seriousness of your point Mark.....

I agree. Just sorted this one. Not cross boundary but - homeowner contacts their home insurer to see if costs are covered for tree removal. Insurer asks - any damage to house? Answer - No. Fixing the tree is not a recoverable cost I’m afraid.... Homeowner (tree owner) pays for tree work. The phone call to tell me about it was funny - that Saturday of Eunice. “..... er, you know that tree you told us to remove several years ago....” ”....yes...” ”...er, it’s on the house....” ”...right-o, I’ll come and have a look...”

Wife was laughing yesterday - she’d seen a ‘headline’ online somewhere: ”.... Russian drone downed by jar of pickled cucumbers thrown by 70 year Grandma....” I really don’t care if it is true or utter cobblers - for me, it nicely sums up what (I think) of the situation 😂 (I did it - I searched Russian drone downed by pickled cucumber. Never thought I’d say that!) The latest act of Ukrainian bravery: Russian drone downed 'by a jar of cucumbers' - Manchester Evening News WWW.GOOGLE.CO.UK While the west baulks at a no fly zone over Ukraine, a woman in Kyiv is said to have taken out a drone with a jar of... Of course it could all be info Ops, if it is - good, it’s working. Ukraine is dominating social media and Russia is imposing martial law and shutting down the internet. As info Ops goes, it don’t get much better than that.... Asharq Al-awsat English ENGLISH.AAWSAT.COM Ukraine has succeeded in dominating social media in the first days since the Russian invasion, in an intensifying...

You have NOT been engaged by that tree owner to liaise with the LA. Period. If he IS minted, and a ‘sharp’ character he may well turn his attention on YOU. Imagine - you take it upon yourself to contact LA - even though he’s told you NOT to - LA decide to TPO due to a perceived threat to the trees and then he comes after you for breach of contract / confidentiality - or just sets about generally doing you down. You’ve got yourself into this pickle by considering cutting corners. Tell him straight - prior to undertaking any tree removals you will check with LA for TPO / CA etc. It is a condition of engagement. Has he asked you to murder his Mrs and drop the body down a mine shaft too? Mum’s the word, leave it with me Guv’nor, don’t worry, if you get caught he’ll cover the fines....

Everyone seems to be at it though eG5er. Had some shady fecker phone me yesterday trying to ‘buy’ my mobile phone contract for less than I currently pay EE. He ponied up a slight saving but as a cold call was never going to get my business.

About as f*cking ridiculous and embarrassing an abuse of the “honours” system as ever might be imagined - and this is hardly a shortage of outrage prior to this. Genuinely pukeworthy 🤮
-
That would be, er, because it does (violate GC) and a reasonably informed professional journalist is reporting an honestly held opinion. It is just as much a contravention to mistreat prisoners of war as it is to intentionally target civilians. Or maybe you’re right huh, the conspiracy got twisted.

You’re a smart guy.... where do you think?
